Sova is the heir to the night. Born between the Princess of the Night and an unknown werepony, she is naturally more of a night-owl than a daytime one. Despite this, she, unlike Luna, is rather popular amongst her subjects. She is a much more sociable pony, who would host a party every single night if she could.

Her special talent lies in sleep therapy. Like Luna, she can enter dreams. However, instead of entering all kinds, she mainly enters nightmares as a soothing aid. She can sense when ponies are feeling mad or stressed, and will dutifully and silently listen to their troubles and worries, only asking in return a scratch behind the ears.

Although she greatly loves helping ponies with their problems, she sometimes wishes to just have a break from it all. Have someone who she can vent to about some of her troubles. Luckily, she does have someone; Ignite. Sova and Ignite are best friends, often meeting in the daytime during Sova's sleeping and Ignite's naps. During then, Sova can gladly be herself and as talkative and irritated as she wants. And she STILL gets her scratch behind her ears (especially because claw scratches are much better than hoof ones).

She can also be very irritable if you get under her fur. While she gladly listens and sympathizes with ponies in hard times (like losing a job or the death of a loved one), she does not appreciate being called upon listening to a problem you put on yourself (she really wouldn't like someone like Zephyr Breeze). And if you are, she WILL call you out on it. She believes if you're going to be mad or stressed, you better have a darn good reason.

Overall, a good listener and a therapy dog (in a way), but is a lot more talkative than she lets on.

- the older she gets, the more spots she attains. After a few thousand years, aside from her wings and paws, she will look completely black
- she used to watch after Scorch a lot when he was a baby
- she is probably the only pony who can get Gordon to willingly talk about his feelings
- she still displays some canine traits, like growling when being threatening, tucking her tail between her legs when she's scared, whimpering when concerned/hurt, and sporting a rather impressive set of fangs
- she secretly worries about somehow transforming into Nightmare Moon, or worse; having her brother become Nightmare Moon
- she can literally smell when somepony is stressed/bothered
- she has no knowledge on her biological father. She mainly saw Thorax as a father figure for most of her life. Although she does sometimes wonder just what was he like.
