But you draw really well, and I'll trade you the speed for your ability there. Maybe then my 'figurative' or 'narrative' work would be less of a struggle.
Thanks for looking through my gallery and reading the comments (unless you could detect that it was painted quickly by just looking at it.) Even I like many of my abstracts, but the truth is my heart is in the politically incorrect world of the old-time narratice painting.

Thank you...I seemed to have lost some of the knack for that in recent abstracts. Recent ones seem uglier.

Sox are in the Series and the Pats are undefeated.

The leaves are red and orange and the air is crisp.

Life is good

Yeah the red and orange leaves kind of get left behind when the Pats are beating everyone by three touchdowns.

There's only three things I miss about Boston...the bookstores, the Patriots, and the Red Sox when they're winning. When Brady hit Donte Stallworth last week and he broke a couple of tackles spinning like a dervish, I had to say "Oh, my!" I usually don't use such strong language! Randy Moss got a "Gee whiz!"

i used to paint a lot like this... i have no work up now or i'd show you, but yeah... like the thickness in parts, the scrapes and blends. good start. I graduated to brushes after a year... now I just use whatever gets the job done. take care. good work.

To execute this takes a lot of skill, tallent and being in touch with youself. This is beyond words, beyond beautifull, perfect

Thanks. I don't know how to reply, except to say if I ever get close to being perfect I'd float away into the heavens. And now I feel firmly rooted in the earth. I have no formal training and the abstracts I paint very quickly, pretty much apply paint to the canvas, us a knife and fan brush and do most of the blending with my fingers. When I have something I like I stop. And I guess I like it because it looks good, which sounds proletarian to me but that's the way it is.
What I admire about your gallery is your willingness to use different styles and techniques. You have such talent and 'painterly' skill in your 'normal' type paintings, and yet I guess that you follow your own vision rather than what other people tell you. In that I'd guess we have much in common.

thing is i had no formal training except 2 semesters of oil painting while i was at uni studying boring majors some 10 years ago....

i am learning and trying different things.. the normal style paintings are my attempt to do something sellable so i can pay the bills but still do something close to heart. I do have my own vision but frequently it gets shut down by insults i receive on daily basis and put downs of my family who do not understand why i do art and not what i studied for, and especially why i do the despair series and abstracts...

i love your vision it is clean beautifull and pure, keep it up do not let anyone ever muddle it up.

Luckily I've been such a tough nut to crack for so long, people don't try anymore. Or at least try very hard.

I really like your abstracts. They all have energy and interest. There is also a Turneresque quality about them .

Fabulous texture... I say that because the texture is not random but rather it gives the center figures the appearance of protagonists... Well done!!

Have an , it's on me!

I'm always seeing things in random paint applications, and often bring the out more tilll it passes from the abstract into the surreal. So those are definitely protagonists, or potential protagonists. Where I stop is anybody's guess, not my discipline.

Thanks. I've got to admit I like it too, but it was painted when an agent I had told me she thought she could sell them. A lot of the blending was with my finger, and they were painted very fast.
