They grow so quickly and then they are gone and mom never sees her babies again. Nice capture

Yeah most likely, they may migrate to same area though, not sure. The young ones will return to their place of birth after 2 or 3 years, they won't be very welcome though!

Thank you, the mum is feeding them less now as they are capable of breaking up fish now. Think she will leave on migration soon but dad will hang about with them for another couple of weeks. He still brings in the fish as I don't think they can catch for themselves yet. First year or so will be challenging for them.

Yeah they make a great team, think it may be harder for the mum as must be tough not being able to leave nest much. She has to ccompletely rely on him bringing in fish also. There was a well known nest north of me that had a disastrous season as the male disappeared.

Another amazing shot. I watched the film you linked me too. It was amazing I love the way they did it in slow motion watching the way the their wings moved. Was so inspiring. It is is quite amazing to watch them fish.
Thank youΒ

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed that film, it is the best one I've seen of ospreys. They really launch themselves into the water, I've been lucky enough to see it a few times. The ospreys I go to see never fish near the nest site for some reason though. See the juveniles doing practice dives there atm though.

Yeah she was amazing, reared around 50 chicks. She's not been seen since 2014 so won't be coming back, they reckon she was around 30 years old so had a great life.

That was a very cool article I also had no ospreys were extinct at one time in Britain. That is really a miracle.

Yeah their re-introduction has been a huge success here, if anything there are too many now as get a lot of intruder ones at nest sites that can cause big problems!
