Oh wow that was a close call.....what happens though if they get past the nest? while up in the sky like this I always wondered about this

Yeah he was up in the air for a long time. I think they are more or less capable of flying at that stage but just need the confidence to let go. That nest is on a tiny island so would have ended up in water if he went down.

Thank you Lucy, he brought in a fish but the mum wasn't impressed so she flew off and got a much bigger one haha! I love seeing the young ones as they are getting ready to fly for the first time, that one was up in the air for quite a long time so thought he was going to go!

This is one near me, around half an hour drive. The webcam ones have both already fledged the nest.
