Description 017 . Framing the Moon
November 10, 2007

-----

Please Full View for details!

This...took...FOREVER. And I mean freakin' FOREVER, and the clouds still look funny. They don't really match the color scheme. Bah. My digital art needs work.

Anyway, this concept was originally just a dragon flying above night clouds, but morphed into a dragon circling the moon. A fellow classmate thought it looked like a donut...but she only saw the line-art on paper, so hopefully it looks less like one now.

This is my fourth attempt at digital art, and also the third dragon. One dragon I've had in Photoshop for a year and still haven't really finished. The other is in my gallery. ;D

And yes, I know the moon does not look like a moon. I didn't really want it to have craters, etc. all over it, so I left it this way on purpose. :]

Enjoy!

I know how to make links using the URL, I just haven't uploaded the line art anywhere, so there's no URL to link to. I guess I could temporarily upload it to my defunct Photobucket account...

Here it is.

its a legendary bird from Pokemon, theres also Ho-Oh, Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno for the birds. then theres Entei, Raikou, and Suicune for the dogs. theres Groudon, Raquaza, and Kyougre for the third set. plus now theres Palkia and Dialga for the fourth set. and i probably went a little to much into detail with that...oh well. im a dragon loving, naruto addict that plays Pokemon so im technically a nerd...

With out nerds, preps and other "normal people" couldn't keep in touch or anything else. so in total, nerds make the tech based world go round!

oakendragon In reply to VenutianMacaw [2007-11-17 01:48:05 +0000 UTC]

Normal people? Hah! Define normal. xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

VenutianMacaw In reply to oakendragon [2007-11-17 02:06:06 +0000 UTC]

there is no such thing as normal. just what most people do and what they think is weird. my dragons, Weird, my love of anime, weird, my lame sense of humor, weird, me not understanding most slang terms, weird, me wanting to become a video game designer, weird, me liking books based on dragons and cats that you have to read to understand, weird. thats what everyone else says, well F*** them! WEIRD IS GOOD! don't you agree? i actually enjoy being the odd one out.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

oakendragon In reply to VenutianMacaw [2007-11-17 03:15:04 +0000 UTC]

Well, if there's no such thing as normal, doesn't that imply everything is weird? But if everything is weird, doesn't weird become normal and therefore cancel out the whole purpose of weird? Does this mean that the previous normal people are now weird because they used to be normal but normal became weird and weird normal?

I'll leave off on the paradoxes to say I garee with you on being the odd one out, and I think it's great that you want to be a video game designer. And heck, books are for reading - so not having to read them to understand them is stupid!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

VenutianMacaw In reply to oakendragon [2007-11-17 04:23:08 +0000 UTC]

well, its the types of books that the think are weird. i read the Temeraire series, the Eragon Trilogy, Deltora Quest, Dragon Master and so on, plus a few manga. besides, my favs are historical fiction and in the middle of english when we had to say our fav book type i said 'historical fiction' and about ten people turned their heads and asked "what's historical fiction". How stupid can you get! the phase HISTORICAL FICTION says what it is!

and i already have an ide for an RPG game with dragons, and you make your own dragon and its like a cross between the Sims and a new game called Spore(not yet released). then you pick its skills and abilities(limits so there are no "unbeatables") and then after picking your own training, you pick the job you want to persue. military, political, rouge, mercenary, 'magician', or tradesman. plus after i described it to some of my friends, they said that they would get it as soon as it came out!

oakendragon In reply to VenutianMacaw [2007-11-25 15:03:41 +0000 UTC]

I haven't read Deltora Quest or Dragon Master. I read the Temeraire series (and own it!) and Eragon, but I didn't particularly like the latter. Dragon Champion, Dragon Avenger, etc. are very good books.

That sounds cool. Do you get to choose very specifically what it looks like, for instance, pick faces, horns, eyes, claws, bodies, colors, etc. or do you just pick a generic form? By the way, I'd play that when it comes out. They need more good dragon games out there!

VenutianMacaw In reply to oakendragon [2007-11-25 16:22:02 +0000 UTC]

thanks for the support! i came up with the idea for the game when i saw a preview thing for the game Spore which is coming out in march i think. and yes, you get to be as specific as humanly possible.

Roseh, it's awesome. It doesn't look like a donut, but the shading on the tail looks a little to soft.

oakendragon In reply to Eaglefoot [2007-11-11 16:46:58 +0000 UTC]

My hand gets really shaky when I start tracing long straight lines or long curves, so I was afraid to do the shading. I guess I'll have to try it next time Thanks!
