I'm slightly embarassed to say that this was done months ago. I've been keeping it cos I kept hoping that when the next Maple Story fanart contest comes out, I could use this piece to enter (the rules of the contest don't allow the entry to be published anywhere else).Now, 9 months later, the once-new town Leafre became familiar to everyone, the godly items not so rare anymore, and I'm afraid that most of these cash-shop clothes are already out of fashion.
What's more important, I think I could do a better job when the contest finally come. That's why I decide to get over this ancient piece.

the lolicon and the warrior i think it is made it also cute and hilarious this is defiantly something that's worth 5/5

You should have entered into the most recent fanart contest and overtaken the rigged competition. (The winning piece is truly TERRIBLE.)

haha, thank you. in fact, i entered one of the contests years ago, and i didn't win anything. i'm not being arrogant or anything, but there were many MUCH nicer submissions than the winning one. i have no idea how they pick the winner, but i haven't entered these contests ever since.

I really don't know their reasoning... They've just recently begun judging art contests via popular vote, so it makes sense that vote-grubbing may cause a less-than-great piece to win, but their process of actually choosing submissions that will be put up for vote is mystifying. It's as if they looked at all the submissions and chopped off the best half.
Maybe they want the art to be more "accessible" and not intimidatingly superior for their (mostly) young fanbase? Do they believe that art that's too pro isn't "fanart"? It's an awful way to run an art contest.

I also have the feeling that they wanted to showcase artworks that's achievable by younger, non-professional artists. but honestly I don't know why they do that. Look at RO or WOW, their fanart is fantastic. It helps draw more fans to the game. Maple's sprites and in-game graphics are good, the official art is just meh, and the fanart is...pathetic comparing to other games.

haha u know what. honestly, ure the best maplestory fanartist i have ever friggin met up until now. this is just more than good enuf to won. but there are some weird aspects and i dont think anyone would be able to figure out. the judging thing. wishing you all the best on the next fanart contest haha!

Yeah MS is really lack of good fanartists. The winning pieces of RO fanart (or even trickster) contest are really good. I'm sure that would encourage more skillful artists to participate. For MS, I'm afraid that a CG artist will see the winning piece, goes "meh", and goes off without even thinking of entering such a contest.
Btw, talking about your chess-game piece, I remembered that it was for the "friendship day" e-card competition. I still see no e-card being put up on the website now. That's how serious they treat their competitions...

look at the prizes. i used to played on global for some period way back before. their contests prizes really rocks. guess what they even have monthly free wedding for best love story, and even 29" Plasma TV for their fanart contest winner. can u even believe that? O_O
