wow, amazing, i love the contrast of this one, how did u achieve such a great contrast? this shot gives off a kinda mysterious feel, i love it, did u use photoshop to get the sort of dark vigneting effect around the side? if so what did u use?

Hey there! thank you very much for your thoughful response! All these photographs were shot with a holga using t-85 postive/negative film. Holga images usually showcase a decent amound of vignetting depending on the film and quirkiness! I burned the edges a little to achieve a certain aesthetic--but mostly the negative captures a good deal of what you see.

This image was scanned as two images ontop of one another on the flatbed. I played with levels a bit and there you have it. The location is Valley Forge National Park in PA

I'm happy you enjoy it!

yes, this was two negatives that randomly got stuck together and I really enjoyed the result...so I aligned the images and scanned them in as one--the effect creates a subtle play with your eye...

thanks!! this photograph comprises two negatives--they actually got stuck to each other when they were drying and I just kept them together (i'm never one to breakup a relationship...hehe)

I love how your photography almost always has an eerie mood to it. Is that intentional?

hm, good question! well the eerie quality is partly a result from the quirkiness of the holga--but i do think that i intentionally make the images dark--sometimes it just happens depending on the nature of the photograph--

these images also were inspired by recent years of horrendous natural disaster events (floods, hurricanes, forest fires, earthquakes)...my feelings about nature and the world we live in changed and these photographs just spawned from that.

Wow! I'm so glad that there's so many meanings behind your photographs--I'm sure that because of this, anyone can be able to connect with them. I can totally see what you're going for. Especially the nature thing; to me, it seems like your nature photos depict a scarred land. But, that's just my opinion...

Well done, cheerio! You're a great artist. =]

I must admit that I'm a big fan of your developing style.
This works so well in the surreal sort of way.
Good job
