**Spoiler Warning for "Banjo-Tooie"**

First appearance: Banjo-Tooie (2000)

Mingy Jongo from ”Banjo-Tooie”. He is a malicious phoney robot version of the friendly witch doctor Mumbo Jumbo, and resides inside a identical hut up in the wacky Cloud Cuckoo Land. The antagonistic automaton's apparent goal is to terminate the bear and the bird, and starts a fight when he tricks them into his hut. Mingy Jongo attacks with blasts from his fake Mumbo-esque wand, and the blasts have homing attributes if they come too close to the duo. Additionally, he can also teleport around the area, making him harder to hit.

The other bosses in the game had believable reasons to attack the duo, and their motives and quirks gave a whole lot of depth to their characters. Mingy Jongo, on the other hand… is just a cold killer machine with no known motives, other than to permanently terminate the duo. He lacks any of the quirkiness from Mumbo Jumbo, and that along with those unholy red eyes and the robotic voice, makes Mingy Jongo one of the scariest characters in the franchise.
His battle was quite hard too, with those frikkin’ homing spell blasts and the teleporting skills. Ugh. But a nice challenge, to be honest.

I’ve worked on this piece for quite a long time now, having a lot of problems with the shading. It looked too flat and/or dark for a long time, and I tried to make more distinct shapes and contrasts, with a better result. I’m not completely happy with this one, and will probably find more faults over time, but it was a nice challenge to work through. And considering all the struggle, I am glad that I managed to correct the shading this much before uploading the deviation.

(update: I realised that I made a rather embarrassing mistake, making the wand magic green instead of in-game pink. So therefore I had to change the magic colour and some of the shading on the body)
