This is the Neji that goes with the new Hiashi and Hizashi story. Not the first story. The sequel.

And, because we all know how much I SUCK at finishing a story-- never mind its sequel-- I'm going to give you the basic run down.

Neji was away on a mission after the twins were born. Some not-so-happy-with-the-way-things-are-going-elders decided to take this opportunity to seal Hiashi and Hizashi "as they should be". They neutralize TenTen, and Neji gets there only seconds too late to stop them. In his fury, Neji attacks.

He beats the elders, but at the expense of his eyes as they had activated his seal-- to stop him, torture him, not kill him-- and he fought through it to save his children. Though Sakura hasn't given up trying, no way to repair the damage has yet been found.

It is going to be a rather long, and sort of complicated, story when I finally get to it. Dark and drama-y. It'll be fun.

This is Neji after he has adjusted, however . The strong and confident father, despite his disability, that the twins would remember.
