Garden FlowersA couple of folk have requested some shots of the garden here at Elderslie House and I'm happy to oblige with some photographs of the current blooms. The total area of the grounds is some 1/3rd of an acre which is far larger than any garden we have had before. When we acquired the property the house had been empty for 4 years and precious little had been done except for someone cutting the grass. Much of the garden had overgrown rhododendrons and other shrubs and small trees that had been planted about 25 years previously and were very well past their best. Almost all of those have now been dug out and some new flower beds laid out. Plants providing colour and contrasts have been grown in those beds, but only about 1/6th of the garden has so far been re-developed. Here are a couple of shots of that area.
