He is 14 now. Maine Coons are very affectionate cats and they can be very talkative.

I have to say that Tom is very handsome ~ even though very naughty! When Pippi passes away (he's 11 now) [link] ~ Jack intends to get a Maine Coon ~ he likes the big, fluffy ones, whereas I'm happy with my two tiny Burmese!

What a puss is Pippi, Coco - and he's got a lot left in him. Tom sends Best Meows. Yes, the Maine Coon breed is a good one to have - they are affectionate and playful, and full of character.

I hope Pippi is with us for a while longer, although he's now on medication for mild arthritis ~ but he's still a good, big old boy! What age are the 'meows'? Coco

Pippi and me both re arthritis!! Tome and Arwen are just over 10 years old - they are birth siblings. Maine Coons are generally long-lived, 16 - 20 being a norm. But, who can tell.

David, I have a mild arthritis in my right thumb scaphoid ~ probably as a result of a lifetime of keyboarding, followed by 20 years of mouse-holding! Sorry to hear about yours ~ it's certainly a bit painful!

Fortunately, Coco, being a man means that I suffer these things in silence, and treat such matters with sang-froid. I banish my old enemy, Mr Gout, to the outer wastes and carry on regardless. Ouch, I've just bumped my elbow...owwww.

Katlin - Tom is not a happy puss! He asks me to point out that he is not "cuute". No, no, no! Handsome, awesome, fierce, majestic, striking...he is all of these. "Cute" is for wimpy cats!!
