Description Bodnant Garden Part 2Bodnant Garden Part 2 - Blooms
In Part 1 of this essay, Bodnant Garden Part 1, I outlined a brief history of Bodnant Garden, one of the foremost country house gardens in the UK that is run by our National Trust.  I illustrated a number of areas within this 80 acre spread, and noted the the Garden is renowned for its rhododendrons, magnolias, eucryphia and embothrium species. In addition, there are numerous cultivars of camellias.  In this second part, the thrust is on the blooms from plants and shrubs flowering in Spring.
My first shots are of some tulips with an acknowledgement to my good friend Sheri, Scooby777 to whom I was lamenting that our wickedly cold Spring had delayed the growth and flowering of tulips in our gardens. Bodnant Garden is sheltered and in a milder position, hence tulips were in profusion during my visit.

Past its best, Doris, but it has a bit of crumpled character.

Many thanks

They are not so common over here, M. Maybe the climate is not so favourable.

Lovely!   Makes me think of a pretty (albeit, slightly wrinkled) dress.

Trying to find and capture a "good" magnolia bloom proved hard, Linda. Most were past their best and starting to decay. I thought this one had quite a bit of character and you analogy is a good one - a wrinkled dress.

Many Thanks

David

Yes. Find beauty in ALL.  And this is beautiful.

Nicely captured, and good to see the imperfect featured along with the perfect, for a change. !!

Good point about perfection and imperfection in images, Linda. You normally need a touch of the imperfect to make you appreciate the perfect.

Many Thanks
