Also I guess I wish Fallout was just less Conservative but I will give you credit where credit is due I guess I just wish fallout at least tried to give Canada a chance in stead of just throwing us under the bus and acting like it's nothing when there could have been a choice for the character whether or not say the US invades Canada or how they do it and what war crimes they commit up there which would have happened like if they did in real life for example use of use of a false flag to start the war,unconventional weapons like poison gas,strategic bombing,ethnic cleaning,forced immigration and emigration,illegal settlements,cultural genocide and segregation in both occupied Canada and in the USA I bet you that since this fallout America is more conservative things like the civil rights movement or gender equality or ever woman's right to vote Β don't happen or as fast as in our timeline and maybe even a lack of separation of church and state as you see the saying "in god we trust" as Americas motto it makes me really hate Fallout's America or pre war USA for being ruled by a bunch of border line fascist warmongering neo conservative pricks ruining the American dream for me I wish there was some way I could at least be able to appose them in this in game or that I can play as the other side in the next fallout game.

Canada has always been more liberal than America,but I doubt even in the fallout universe that there was such a great difference in culture to justify ethnic cleansing or slavery(the rest maybe,epically the false flag illegal settlements ). And as for civil rights,while certainly the fallout America was more paranoid and chavanistic if you will, a propaganda poster in Fallout New Vegas encoraging employees by calling them a workplace'sΒ greatest asset shows a woman and an African American man together with a Caucasian man.
From that one can conclude it's unlikely civil rights don't exist but they are probably more reserved and took a longer time as you said.
I Can't imagine why they would deny woman the rigth to vote since by even the first divergence it had been an amendment for over thirty years and not only are the state and church Β separated by the constitution but since in all the goverment documents the player reads throughout the series classified and civil never mentions anything church related I think we can safely say that America is not a theology state.
still hopefully Fallout Four being so close to the border will have its own Canadian version of Raul the ghoul who can tell the player the glory of pre war Canada and maybe in a DLC go there and fight mutated Bever's with a hockey stick or something.

You know that America, or rather, the american government are pretty much the bad guys in Fallout right? ...and that much of the Fallout universe is basically a exaggerated parody of American consumerism and corporatism (Nuka Cola, Vault tec, etc.)
