I was really happy with this one so imma just give myself a pat on the shoulderthere did it
and i'll pet my sisters shoulder too, bcs it was her idea when i was stuck on what bg i was gona have. and there she came like a motherfucking miracle and bam, there is is now. black and faces yes plz
ok so, yep, gamzee everyone! this was made on a tiny paper, on A6!! thats like, a quarter of the regular papers i use. if i put my hand on it i will cover it up fully almost! :0
i used that technique as well, the one where you do lines in one colour and then add some black lines, i used grey this time. this was the drawing where i discovered that technique actually!
its very fun to draw on so tiny papers! i have done it a lot lately. its finished much faster since the size and you do not waste too much colours!

Not bad, bro. I actually really enjoyed looking at this. Everything is well draw, the anatomy is great. His expression is well drawn, makes him look slightly ominous. All is well. Although the background is a little bit bland, I do think it suits the picture, however, you could add a little more detail to the background, maybe putting splatters in the background? Idk. It looks good, either way. The only think I wish you did is make the shading more defined, you can hardly see it in some parts. The same goes for some of the highlights, you can't really see any (I don't know if you're using water colour pencils or not, but if you are, I suggest not colouring it to the edges where you want the highlights, then lightly drag over the brush to smear the colours a little so it makes a lighter shade, if you can understand any of my confusing explanation). Other than that, I really enjoyed viewing this picture and it's well done. I'd like to see more Gamzee from you, because he's my favourite motherfucking bro. Great job.

but its rather hard to make them fade! thats why i don't leave a plank spot for the highlights, i add them afterwards, and so the shadings as well.
But i thought about what you said with the shadings and i have been working on makin them better and more showing.
I do use ONE water colour pencil, a black one, wich i usually add in the end for more shading.

im not using water colours, im using markers! however, i do like to mix different types of pencils. I always make the highlights with a white gel pen, and the shadings with a black pen. Maybe thats why it doesn't show too much :/

Oh holy shit. That's really good if it was done in markers. I dunno, maybe put the shading in after you apply the marker? Or go over it? I don't know, you'll have to experiment though.

I do shade afterwards, but i shade with the markers too!
The final shading is done with ONE black water colour pencil.
Markers can be very hard to get a smoth and nice fading into the white left area, thats why i mostly add the highlights afterwards!

This looks all kinds of good. The colors are very nicely flowing, actually showing him with his potions is an aspect I feel most god tier Gamzees need. Not sure what the faces in the background represent but they do add a nice comical flare that seem to balance it out. You actually made his scars go in the right direction, which is good. The only thing that I can find a miss with this artwork is that the shading on the right forearm doesn't seem to be proper. Other than that the rest of the shading is very well blended, the details are to the "T", and this piece provides a new perspective on how he would act. His look on his face is mischievous yet inviting, not something I see often. All in all, you should be very proud to call this your artwork; very nicely done.
