I thought that the surroundings of Sydney were strictly flat ! Amazing view ! The people at the bottom go out from a cave ?

i think so we were too lazy to go all the way down and back up (and back up again). this is about 2 hours outside of sydney, btw.

I just love HDR. I don't have photoshop CS2 yet and I cannot wait to do this the easier way. Your photograph is very surreal. I love it.

Which software did you use? I've been using photomatix, if you want, take a look at my latest deviation. It's also a HDR.

I remember reading about HDR a little bit recently, it's like overlapping bracketed exposures of a shot or something, right?

midgetman [2006-06-11 23:57:31 +0000 UTC]

This is unbelievable, as has been said before it's somewhat hard to grasp what's going on here. I thought it was a 3D model or something at first...ahh awesome

Great shot, love that tiny detail of your boyfriend or friend on the low right corner! eheh! I love the overall sharpness of the pic!

And in my ignorance could explain to me what is a HDR process? Thank you!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

olya In reply to kyanos [2006-06-12 04:19:29 +0000 UTC]

hah, actually that's some random people, not my boyfriend

HDR is a process to generate images with wider dynamic range than regular cameras allow. [link]

basically, i use a program to combine a series of exposures of the same scene into one exposure with a larger depth. this is *not* a process of cutting and pasting images together - the final file that is generated is "physically" different from any file that a regular camera can generate (well, regular AFAIK).

thanks for viewing!

Wow. I love the sky. I love overcast textured skies like that because the beauty of it's own and that it helps bring out the color in the mountains and trees. Then you have the sun rays to add more texture and give it the 'underwater' feel like someone mentioned above. The tree covered valley that's lumpy adds more texture, especially with the selected light beams. Overall, it's an amazing photo. Definite fav.

HornyLilDeviant [2006-06-11 21:38:28 +0000 UTC]

looks nice, but, i got "beef" with that new hdr fashion because well, idk what kind of tone mappers people use, but pictures don't look real anymore but more like aquapainting or whatever it's called, it all looks soft, lackin contrast and unreal. I mean, I thought at first that HDR was there to bring you pictures that looks more like what you see, but in the end the new wave of HDR pictures we see look anything but real.

HDR photography is so 2006

Now this is weird. Its most definitely messing with my eyes. The thing is that i cant seem to judge its depth. Most of the time the background has a bit of haze, making the foreground seem clear and sharp. This one......doesnt have that

Good HDR experiment.....although i clearly see the postwork at the top right, by the edge of the cliff. I suggest using a smaller, textured brush.
