nice view indeed... i really like how you caught the water and stones against the backdrop of the mountain... unfortunately you have some kind of halo around the mountain thats a bit disturbing.. I guess you merged different shots to get the exposure right in all the places.. other than that (which could be fixed easily) it's an amazing shot!

Stunning...absolutely breathtaking. I'm experimenting with taking in RAW - what would you say the advantages/disadvantages are?

Wicked shot mate

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

olya In reply to ace2029 [2007-02-14 16:20:33 +0000 UTC]

advantages: better control over color space for printing/web display, enormous control over exposure and saturation, contrast as well as multitude of other things, all post exposure, allowing for "rescue" of many photographs, plus betterment of many that are good to begin with.

drawback: more post processing time in front of the computer, larger size (ie less photos/card).

i say its worth it

This is absolutely amazing. The lighting is breathtaking. How did you balance exposure?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

olya In reply to rapidvision [2007-02-14 15:52:08 +0000 UTC]

very very carefully

shot in RAW, underexposed to save the sky and thus i had the flexibility upon getting home.
