Wow, I would not want to meet any of these beasts. Regardless, they are very unique and interesting to look at! All the textures and elements so apologetically spliced together. The bone structure of the first is intriguing as well as the bulbous folds in the body of the second. I think the last is my favorite, especially the head and colors of the petals.

Horrible Maggot Tardigrade is my fave.
But I like how cohesive they manage to feel, both as designs and as part of a group!

I love these designs.Β I mean, the intricacy of detail alone is amazing; the tendon-like wrapping as a recurring motif especially grabs me.Β But I also love how you mix logic and illogic here.Β On the one hand, very obviously, these are monstrous creatures; the second one in particular just feels wrong, with its bulbous, sagging flesh and misshapen multitude of eyes, while the sharp fangs and skeletal features and tendrils they all share make them clearly unnatural and wrong.Β And yet...each one also flows in its own way.Β The skeleton crab thing, for example; the way the backwards head becomes like a thorax, the way the shape of it feels coherent, is unmistakable.Β That mix thus renders them all that much more unnerving, because they feel like they shouldn't exist...but they could.

I'm really happy you like them, I got a little discouraged earlier about them.
Yeah, they've all got tentacles in some form or other, it's how they catch prey. >D No-eyes is also a common trait (those are supposed to be pustules on the center one, not eyes, but I can see where you might see that. Ha! See.)

Aww, that much happier to give 'em the luv they deserve, then. <3
See, this is what I love about how you design your critters: you clearly put a lot of thought, not just into how it'll look, but what each of its traits means.Β It's great.Β

Ah, so they're like Eldritch Abominations similar to Cthulu and the Old Ones, or the Things From The Dungeon Dimension from Discworld. Β Something who's existence doesn't really play well with the accepted rules of what we mere mortals lovingly call "reality." Β They look really creepy, though I honestly thought the second one was a Daemon of Nurgle from Warhammer 40k game.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. With so much literary and creative history behind humanity, there's always bound to be a little overlap as far as character features go.

Thank you, I really hoped they'd be original (though someone pointed out the second one looks like something from an existing property so maybe I need to work on that one...). I Was really hoping for a certain creepiness. >D
