Description
A tribute to Glen Angus (rest in peace) whos series of paintings called "Victory Gals" inspired me and a tribute to my favorite television series (and the best story ever told) Battlestar Galactica. This particular painting represents the return of Kara "Starbuck" Thrace from the dead - reborn as an angel. She is wearing a toga and using bow with arrows of Apollo as her weapon to fight her enemy, because the whole BSG saga was based on Greek mythology, so Kara also represents the Greek goddess Artemis, who also hunted with a bow and arrows. Im considering painting the whole series...Boomer with a cylon raider, Caprica with heavy raider, Dualla with raptor...and one that would be in the middle of all these 4 - Starbuck falling in to the eye of Jupiter but being held by two angels on each side - Baltar and Caprica...Related content

Great picture, but Apollo was in a newer Viper, not the Mk II....

This is beyond awesome. I never really though of this scene that way, but it makes perfect sense. Love the detail on it as well as the colours. I cannot wait to see the rest of the series.

i would love to see one of Boomer 'singing' to the cylon ship - that's one of the most effective scenes in that show in my view - its also a clear 'hint' that poor Sharon is not all that she appears to be..
the other scene that tore my guts apart was the rape scene that she went through (helo and the chief were also outstanding in that part) and the loss of her child shortly afterwards when they lied and told her and helo that the child died in childbirth (i also loved doc cottles disgust at what was being done).
After both those events i was actually really hoping the cylons would catch up and kill the lot of them for a period of time.
others that would look good would be the part at the end of series one where sharon meets all her doubles and they take off her helmet and tell her not to be scared and of course something showing her doing what she does best being a 'hot shot' raptor pilot and helping to save the fleet again and again...

you need to join the BSG Group im in called 'Save Caprica' which is now covering also the new BSG Blood and Chrome,as well as all the previous incarnations.
i also have to admit that i have a major soft spot for the raptor over the viper as they remind me of the old 'adage' 'fighters win battles - bombers win wars'.
how many times did the raptor's save the fleet either as eyes or as recon birds - yet everyone remembers the viper but forgets the poor old rapator.
