Stephanie stayed with Sheryl as the latter slowly made her way to the ring ropes in an effort to get vertical.   It took her awhile but she managed to get there eventually and slowly find her footing.

Allison slipped into the ring and made her way to Anne, grabbing her arm as she did.

“The winner by submission… The Phoenix … Anne Carter! Congrats on moving on to the quarterfinal round.”

Anne raised both arms, index fingers pointing high to the air.   She was disappointed from last year’s result and now she had exorcised that demon and clearly felt she was on her way. She wanted that trophy back badly and now it was in sight.

In sight did not mean it was hers.   There was plenty of work still to do and still plenty of amazing fighters blocking her path.
