Description

Hello, humans! I use machine translation. If you see a typo, please correct me.

The first version of this location was unsuccessful and I had to redraw it from scratch. The second time I used matte painting method, which allowed me to create this landscape three times faster than usual. Perhaps in the future I will repeat this experience, but the following locations will be drawn in the usual style.

 Now about the location.

So why are moles? Moles are the most common profession for prisoners which everyone can practice, regardless of age and education, it consists in collecting ore in the territories surrounding the city. Workers often return from the plains smeared with mud from head to toe, from which their name came, which then became associated with the territory on which moles work.

Since the usual compass is going crazy here, to simplify the orientation on the terrain, beacons were created, blinking with different intensities. Focusing on them, you can reach the city even in conditions of poor visibility. The closer you are to the city, the more often the lighthouses flash, in addition there is a dictionary of signals that you can use to understand what part of the plains you are in.

It would be logical to assume that workers for several centuries should have removed all the ore from the territories surrounding the city. So it would be, but M-0 has ability to restart its ecosystem at intervals. Each felled tree or killed animal will be restored upon restart, and the stronger the impact on the ecosystem, the more massive the reboot will be and the more nanites will be brought by wind. For these purposes, charges regularly explode on the plains so that next reboot brings a larger crop.

What a nice way to describe the beginnings of a long body of water. It starts out as a little stream on top of a mountain, then it picks up more water along the way and then the mouth of the rivers deposits into the ocean. I know it's not the ocean. But it's just what I see in this picture.

This is quite some impressive technology. But when ressources are extracted in large scale, they have to be replaced, even if the setup is 'restarted' by nanites or similar means. Where do they come from? How is the material budget refilled? Not to mention the energy required. What is 'below' M0...?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OneOut In reply to Magnus-Strindboem [2020-01-24 04:02:40 +0000 UTC]

The degree of infection is so high that the entire planet can be restarted. If stupid aliens did not manage to clean the entire surface in millions of years, what are the chances of these workers?

What is below M-0 are called Blind Levels. There does not get light from the membrane and there is total darkness.

Magnus-Strindboem In reply to OneOut [2020-01-24 11:49:53 +0000 UTC]

Now the question... WHAT is down there... in the darkness.

Nothing? Or Something?

OneOut In reply to Magnus-Strindboem [2020-01-24 13:35:03 +0000 UTC]

Well, you know, if you start digging the ground, then in the depths you will definitely come across an old rotten squid or something like that.

Joke.

Under the surface at a great depth there are communications in which factories and network control servers are located. Some of the servers are controlled by Church, so they twice managed to activate megaliths during the war with ezzo and during the appearance of the arks.

On Gray Plains, the entrances to these tunnels are in Wax Boilers area.

They are all locked in dome-6 along with their fetishes. Until I arrange a safari in the forests, they will not jump. Checked twice.

When we get back there it will be confirmed a third time.
