I find this very fascinating and impressive as you mix the colors. *.*

Great work, the linework really compliments the colour.

Thanks! I think I am pleased with that too. The summer sun was so strong and not just warm, but HOT. I feel like I captured that a little with the yellows of the rock and the intense shadows. I couldn't get the lizard as bright and metallic/irridescent as it was in the real life light, but I tried to show its tensed curiosity at my approach, and the feeling of being torn between staying in the sun to bake, and fleeing from my focus. I just wish I could have also captured it's sparkly scales!

You put a lot of thought into this painting.ย I like that!ย Yeeeaaaah I love that sun!ย I'm also a fan of using warm yellows for that reason.ย I haven't quite figured out how to paint iridescence yet either, so please help me when you do. xD

I often just cheat and use a wink of stellar glitter brush - instant sparkles lol I suspect the real approach involves way more time than I can usually be bothered to put into it. I've gotten close to it using copic markers and it is a loooong process. I've only ever seen watercolourists mimic it by placing really dark spots against the white of the paper.
