Description The Titanic set sail on the 10th of April 1912, She hit the iceberg on the 14th at 11.40pm and sank at 2.00am on the 15th.

Titanic had around 885 crew members on board for her maiden voyage, the captain of which was Edward John Smith born in 1850.

Titanic's passengers numbered around 1,317 people: 324 in First Class, 284 in Second Class and 709 in Third Class.

Only 710 people survived.
Only one lifeboat went back to rescue passengers from the water. That water was freezing, a person of top physical condition (like a sports person) could only survive in it for around 15mins. These weren't sports people and probably only survived for about 5mins. Water that cold is received by the body as pain and it would of felt like being stabbed all over.

Only 4 people were rescued from the many that were in the ocean.

None of staff from the Italian restaurant survived.

A few of the people who did survive that night died soon after from injuries.

The men who survived were branded as cowards because it should have been women and children first but some of them died. A lot of other survivors were left without their husbands, fathers and brothers etc.

J. Bruce Ismay the chairman of The White Starline was one of the survivors but was victimised by the public as well as the British & American press who accused him of cowardice. He spent his life out of the public eye from then on.

The heroic band continued playing throughout the chaos to try and calm people did not survive.

It seemed like the Titanic was doomed from the off, hitting the iceberg may have sunk the ship but it is not solely responsible for the great loss of life.

Everything was against it;

+ Using Iron rivets instead of Steel ones. Why would they choose to do this? If you're going to create a luxory liner you make sure no expense is spared ANYWHERE on the ship not just the interior. Maybe this didn't make a difference but maybe it did?

+ The lifeboats weren't tested at full capacity. If they had of been then they would have been filled full on the night of the accident thus saving more lives.

+ There weren't enough lifeboats to fit all the passengers.

+ Iceberg warnings were ignored.

+The captain ordered the ship to speed up, if it hadn't it probably would of missed the iceberg because it would of drifted away by the time they reached it's location.

+The sea was dead calm which meant that it was near impossible to spot rocks or icebergs due to no waves splashing against them.

+The binoculars were missing from the Crow's Nest.

+ The SS Californian the ship that was close to the Titanic when it was sinking had her radio turned off.

This was made in honour and loving memory of all those involved in this tragic tale.

Beautiful job. I hate that that happened to all those innocent people!
My mom told me that there was a survivor named Selena, and that's my name, so I thought that was kind of cool, but its still sad. Just thinking about how many little kids were there. I mean, all the deaths were said, but kids haven't lived yet. No one deserved this
