just a little page from Charles' and Jeremy's past. And sorry, but I won't tell you that story just yet..
Probably a stupid idea to post it in the first place, but, meh.. *shrug*

Alrighty, here's my guess what's happening cuz I like guessing:
Charles was raping his younger brother Jeremy.
Jeremy tells the police.
So Charles gets sent to jail. By the time he gets out, Jeremy has a son. (Spike)
Charles kills Jeremy.
Charles get custody of Spike.
Story begins!
Just a guess, nothing more.

Very a nice guess but actually, according to the novel JeremyΒ committed suicide because his wife died giving birth to Spike, that's why Charles is Spike's caretaker and then he starts to abuse him. Β Β

If I got it right, Jeremy is Spike's father. I'm starting to think Charles killed Jeremy to become caretaker of Spike. And Jeremy knew his brother was a paedophile since teenage.
