Description from POTC: At World's End.

I did this costume for a number of reasons..
Firstly, I was so very pleased to see Keith Richards' cameo in the movie. The Brethren Court was one of my favorite scenes in the movie.

Secondly, I've already done Jack and my taste for beer has made my own Jack cosplay a little laughable. It was time to move to a more suitable pirate.

Lastly, my surname is actually Teague. I shat a brick when they said his name.

I must asl about the wig, was it bought finishes or did you make it yourself... and if so, how

Opergeist In reply to RasmusVJ [2011-03-07 16:01:16 +0000 UTC]

I made it by cannibalizing several wool "dreadlock" wigs, distressing them and sewing them into another wig. The embellishments and trickets were mostly found at thrift stores or around my house.

Oh god, Teague. <3 He alone is worthy if brick shittery.

And you cosplaying as him...I nearly shat a whole house!

I love how intricatly done this is.The gun is a wonderful touch, and my god I wish I had those boots. Not to mention the fabric used for the coat itself. Such an amazing job!

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Opergeist In reply to Grays0n [2007-09-05 05:03:50 +0000 UTC]

Aheh..aw shucks. I'm glad that you like it!

The boots were actually a $2 thrift store find. I split the tops and added the cavalier cuff after digging around my scrap leather bin.

The coat fabric is just plain old red taffeta (most of it was a leftover from an old prom dress that was also acquired at the thrift store) with appliqued brocade to make the 'embroidery'.

Yeah. Teague rocks. Hardcore.

Well thank you! That means a lot. But see, the difference between the two of us is that you create these lovely pieces, that's real art. I just get lucky by finding old pieces on eBay, haha.
