Description Another invention of Cole , this is a hybrid crossbow/Gauss gun made in the backyard with spare parts and a good dose of creativity. I based it in some photos of crappy kludged AK-47 made in amateur forges around Afghanistan

The crossbow propels the ammo (bolts and nails) and the DIY Gauss (using wires and a power cell) accelerates it more, increasing the damage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The Bolter

Class: Magnetic Cross Bow

Ammo: Nails, Homade Copper Bolts, and EC Packs

Damage Per Hit: 55 + 15 Armor Peircing for Nails

Damage Per Second: 55

Spread: 1 inch per 30 feet

Description: This is another option for new Mixers to make, it more challenging But much more rewarding. Inniates take a Premade crossbow and must fuse a Gauss Coil to it, The Coil wont Burst but it keeps a magnetic field much weaker than a Gauss rifle, but enough to send the Bolt at 900fp/s. As fast as a shotgun slug, a Mount is then placed under to hold the EC Pack, and a mount on top to hold a weak scope.

Health: 100-500 (50, 250 shots)

Ammo: Solid Bolt (Standard ammo, More AP Damage) Copper Arrow (Slower but more accurate) Nails (Faster but less accurate = More damage)

It remembers me a film in Youtube with guys firing stupidly enormous rounds in rifles at a shooting range. Most of them were just catapulted backwards

Thanks! I would love to know how to create guns for mods... or even a brand new FPS... I downloaded UDK (Unreal Development Kit) but its quite hard to use...

Well if you wann start with some easyer game making try using this program called Blender 3D!It an animating , modeling , rendering program that it's incorporated with a game engine , you can model some thins like guns or characters and use them directly in that engine. It's a free software and you can find a lot of tutorials on youtube or on there website.I hope it will help you!

Wow! I downloaded Blender and it seens a bit tricky to use... I think I got so used with the overclean interface of Sketchup that I forgot how to deal with so many bottoms at once

I will try to learn some of it

Well b;enders interface is a bit hard to deal with but if you work on it a couple of days you'll get use to it.

Good question... I think the "bow" part would not be necessary as the electromagnets can pull the bolts on their own... but its good when you are without energy, so you can shoot like an usual crossbow

Is it possible to use teh scope if we put it in the middle of the crossbow?

👍: 0 ⏩: 3

orcbruto In reply to Brownez-Koekoez [2011-12-21 11:18:07 +0000 UTC]

Its not a long range scope, its more like one of those revolver scopes, you don't put the eye on it, but look at some distance just to center the target (or the crossbow part would hit your face )

I guess you should put that 'bow part' at the front.
