Description
The male figure, thrust a dagger toward Scarlet's midsection but missed as Scarlet caught his wrist and slammed her hand into his face. The man's cry of pain was muffled as Scarlet pressed her fingers into his eyes. Scarlet pushed the man to the ground and turned to the woman who stood with fear filling her eyes.

"Well," Scarlet growled, beckoning the woman to come forward. The woman pulled out her dagger and started toward Scarlet.
Scarlet faked a lunge, causing the woman to back away with a jolt dropping her dagger, and ran down the road. Scarlet turned to the now-empty street.

"Damn it," Scarlet swore allowed as she examined the sides of the street for small cubbyholes and for sighs of Amber and Jena.
