Stunning image, the long exposure has created some beautifully silky water.

The sky contrasts with the water brilliantly.

Great stuff

Wow.
You are very lucky to be able to take such great shots in such terrific places!
Did you do a lot of Photoshopping on this shot?
I'm just curious because, it doesn't seem like it.

Thanks

It is a Infrared photo. I haven't done that much in photoshop, just curves and removed the color from the water and a little color adjustment.

desperation In reply to Osiris81 [2009-03-22 23:32:14 +0000 UTC]

Ah. I'm still pretty new into photography and stuff so... how do you do infrared? lol
Do you need a special lens to take that type of shot?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Osiris81 In reply to desperation [2009-03-23 18:25:41 +0000 UTC]

Hey,

you can either use a special (modified) camera, that's what I do, or you use an infrared filter on your lens (does not work with any camera / lens combination and you always need a tripod because the exposures are quite long)

desperation In reply to Osiris81 [2009-03-24 03:35:38 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot! What kind of camera did you use for this shot? And, is the camera specifically made ONLY to take infrared shots, or is it just an effect built-in?

Osiris81 In reply to desperation [2009-03-24 20:47:11 +0000 UTC]

Hi, I used a Canon EOS 400D, but it's not the original anymore, there are companies that make an infrared modification and I've sent my camera to one of those. The costs are around 300 - 500 dollars I guess (I paid about 400). I can only shoot infrared photos with this camera now, normal shoots are not possible anymore.

desperation In reply to Osiris81 [2009-03-25 01:48:05 +0000 UTC]

Ah. I'm supposing you have another camera to use, as well?

Was it worth the money for the modification?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Osiris81 In reply to desperation [2009-03-25 19:36:20 +0000 UTC]

Hi,
Yes, I have the 450D for a long time and I did not know what to do with the 400D so I made the modification. I really like the IR effect so it was worth the money
