I'm just goofing around a bit here. I know for certain that there is interest in if Pinkie's mane will be able to fit on a pegasus-- for certain reasons... The answer is that I'm planning on modifying one of the first casts so that I'll have a compatible mane for those who want to add a certain Surprise to their collection (go find your Blossomforth's now!!!)Related content

Party of One is my favorite episode... When I finally get around to painting her eyes, they're going to be either upset or crazy... I'd do "sad", but I can't exactly change the smile molded onto her plastic face without getting into some serious cosmetic surgery.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of clay do you use to sculpt? I usually just use regular Sculpey (usually just play around with it, or make little scale models of stuff), but it's not quite as firm as I would like. Whatever you use looks like it holds it's form really well.

It's just regular sculpey, same as you're using.
The only real difference that I'm finding between what I do and what others are doing is that I'm baking multiple times-- I make a solid base to work on and add more material later, usually only focusing on one small area at a time. I also use an x-acto knife and sand paper on it to carve/smooth it out.

I usually use a 'skeleton' made out of wire, aluminum foil, and other materials sometimes (still experimenting), so as to not use so much clay - what you make is thin enough that you probably don't use a whole ton of clay anyways, and don't need any kind of 'filler'.

When I started this project, I was trying to make "skeletons" for the tails, but eventually gave up on using other materials and transitioned to making a thin "rough" shape out of clay to bake and build upon...
Yeah, I can't exactly say I've gone through too much clay making these... only about half of small box of sculpey.

LOL! And Blossomforth is the perfect pegasus to fill the role. Now we just have to wait for Skywishes to be released (for Firefly) and hope hope hope that we get a Yellow Earth-pony for Posey!

Suprise! Yup. I've had a decent amount of interest in her, so I'm figuring that I'll use an early Pinkie Pie cast to modify for use with a pegasus (those silly wings are always getting in the way!) and then re-mold the modified mane so I have something to sell.

Rarity wasn't nearly as difficult I thought she would be... the fact that her look is so specific meant I didn't have to conceptualize anything (which I find to be the hardest part) and all I had to do was come up with something that looked right (and try to not break it while working on it!)

Egads! That one would probably be a custom order... Once I have the Pinkamina sculpt finished, a bit of dremel work on one of the casts would do the trick easy enough.

I actually edited the pupils in with my photo-editing program... Right now her eyes are just white. I haven't decided exactly how I'm going to paint them yet...
