Do you buy your stuff from Hobbycraft? I buy all my Letraset Markers from there, and my 'box folders' which I don't know the real name for. The reason I'm asking is that there are isles of materials and threads that you might be interested in and the material you used looks like something it might sell.
You know, I once lost my glasses in Hobbycraft. My mum doesn't know though, so don't tell her! I'm rambling now...
Any way, great job! Did you Dad like it? You've gotta teach me how to make (what's the correct term? To replace 'make' I mean? Or does 'make' work too? Again, rambling...) these books, you know.
It's an incredibly thoughtful gift, but you're correct, it did seem to get quite expensive! What did you spend? £30, £40 or even £50?
You see I like to buy my parents birthday presents five minutes before they wake up on the day of their birthday for a £5 at least. But that's only because I can never find something thoughtful to buy them...
Must stop rambling now, I apologise for the giant wall of text. In case you haven't noticed in our past conversations, I like love to talk.

I DO! I would live in Hobbycraft if I could.
I love the aisles of all the stuff... like the paper aisle, and the fabric aisle, and the one dedicated entirely to ribbon... I need help... |D
Oh no! I've lost mine, too... but not in Hobbycraft. I don't think. xD
I never wear them anyway, my vision is fine.
Thank yooou! He did indeed. And 'make' works, but I suppose you could say 'bind' too. On the first book I made there's some links to the tutorials I used, but maybe I'll make my own at some point, too. They're a lot of fun to make, you really should try it!
Oh no, not quite that much, thank goodness! xDD It came to about £20 overall - the fabric was definitely the most expensive thing I bought, but I have lots of it left over! I have the same problem with my parents, they're the hardest people to buy for in the world... which is why I usually end up making them something because purely the fact that I made it makes it thoughtful, even if the gift itself isn't what they'd normally ask for. Usually they really like it!
Oh not at all, given the chance I talk a lot too, as you can see! xDDD
