I made a plushie Selador!
The other day I had some free lessons so I came home and decided, while grabbing lunch, that I would wreck some more of my journal. (my 'Wreck This Journal', of course). I was doing the section which instructs you to 'sew this page' when I was suddenly inspired to make a plushie of some kind!
It's the third one I've ever made, and I'm really happy with how it turned out!! 
=phlum referred to it as 'Plushador', and it just sort of stuck.I had a big pile of felt left over from some long-forgotten project or other in my cupboard, and as luck would have it I not only found the right colours for a little squishy Selador, but the right amounts too! It was simply meant to be...
I'm a complete plushie novice, but this was really fun to make!
Please tell me what you think.

For the eyes and leaf I just drew them out freehand... but for the main body I used a pattern.

And ah, very helpful to know - I have a couple of felt plushies I'm supposed to make for Easter and I'm feeling a little clueless about where to start, but as they won't need any definite shapes, perhaps I'll be okay if I just make it up as I go (or at least make my own patterns, heh) . . . maybe . . .

What sort of things were you going to make?
I've found felt to be quite forgiving, really.. I made lots of weird little things when I was younger, and none of them failed too miserably.

Little cats based on some characters from old kid's stories - given the original illustrations, I think I've got a decent chance of making some that look like what they're supposed to look like!

I tried to make my own pattern today, for a turtle. It wasn't actually too bad, but after making a prototype I'm going to go back and make a few adjustments.

I'm not going to lie, I have no idea what a plushie is - but this is very lovely nonetheless. It seems as if there is no area of art in which you do not excel, would you consider an arts career? 
Oh, and I now have great confidence that when we are old friends you will make me some cracking jumpers...there's more pressure on me to read up on ships in bottles now!

I followed a recipe. Cooked cake + icing mashed together to make a sugary mush. Then use a scoop like a melon baller or small ice cream scoop. Then put in fridge. Dip in chocolate. Fridge again. Cake ball! hahaha. I think my mixture had too much icing or not enough fridge time. And I didn't know about the dipping it thing. I had mush balls.
