Pretty good for a first time! (gasp i missed your birthday! 'A') but anyways, generally some people would sketch out their main drawing, add another layer and use the line tool (paint tool sai) to make the lines smoother, and just used the tablet for shading I need a tablet omg.

If you want smoother lines, a lot of digital art programs come with features to create smooth lines. Sai has "line art" and "paths" and gimp has "smooth stroke" and "paths". And mspaint is just pixels.

Oh cool. Digital art is some what new to me. I learned a lot in animation class, but I'm most likely going to stick with traditional.
