You know...before I bought "Spirits Bloom" I read the Erma series and thought "Aw, what a cute little series where horror movie characters are turned into family friendly icons, this is place where no one will die horribly and-"

I bought and loved Spirit's Bloom. Although, when I started reading it, I feel like it's missing the first few pages- it could use a proper introduction to the town where they are living, to the main characters themselves with a narration to help us get to know that place and the protagonists a little better. Β Something like that. (If you read manga, they usually start the story by focusing first on a location- a city,Β house, or some other place -before focusing next on the important characters. That's how I'm accustomed to reading comics this way, anyway.)Β
But that's ok, it's not a big deal. The rest of the story is great, and I really enjoyed it. It's definitely worth purchasing to find out how Erma's parents meet and fall in love, lol. The baby Erma is super cute, there are LOTS of foreshadowing in that story to whet the appetite for the future stories to come.Β
So I want to thank you for taking time to write and draw Spirit's BloomΒ π

I'm just curious, not completely being in with the lore of Erma despite having read all the comics. But Ermas' mother is Sadako from the ring, right? I mean, all the traits are there (I would read the book to find out if I could, but can't buy it due international shipping fees and payment options)

I've already read the book (but to save you from any spoilers I won't be revealing her name) Erma's mother is a similar ghost to Sadako, a Japanese ghost known as Onryo, she isn't Sadako herself.Β
