Description Yay for lame Sherlock puns

So Fyrie introduced me to the BBC's Sherlock and I rather love it. Benedict Cumberbatch is a bloody amazing actor. I also wanted to practice high contrasting skin tones so this is a two birds/one stone type thing

Done in Prismacolor pencils.

WOW. HOW ON EARTH DID YOU DO THAT? i LOVE how you've done his hair and those tones in his face! How many shades of pencils did you do through? I only have a few prisma colour pencils, so can't do much blending with limited skin tones, but how on earth did you make them do that?! *U*

I used around 20 colours on his face - different combinations in the shadows than in the lighter areas etc etc. The only colours I use on the entire face are a layer of cream and a layer of light peach.

When the art shop where I lived started to sell prismacolors I used to collect a couple of new colours each week starting with skin tones. I absolutely love them!

This. Is. So. Gorgeous.
The detail on his eyes and lips is incredibly good and the shading is very nice. Also, the proportions of his face are perfect - which is hard to get with Benedict, the damn elusive man.
