Story tieeeem~
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It has been a couple days since Sigma hatched. There were a lot of wynglings that hatched the same day with her, so she was still taking in her surroundings. The Nook seemed so crowded, but that's only because Sigma is only a small wyngling, and the other wynglings are the same size as her. The sun was shining brightly through the window in her small room. She awoke, and hopped out of her bed. The other wynglings who shared the room were already up. They were doing typical things, such as running around, rough-housing, or playing with eachother. Sigma figured she should find something to do, so she looked around the room. It wasn't the easiest thing, though. For these past days, everything to Sigma looked fuzzy and indistinguishable. She, however, thought that was normal and thought nothing of it. That was how she had seen everything since she had first left her egg. Sigma stumbled on some blocks and flopped on the floor. She gave a small sigh and began getting up, until something caught her attention. She found what looked to be a brown rectangle, but was actually a book. For the time she has been in the Nook, Sigma has never seen something like that before. Alma popped in for a short bit to check up on everyone. This was a good time to ask her what she had found.

    Sig: Mama Alma?

Alma: Hm? What is it, dear?

Sig: Uh, what is this thingy?

Alma: Oh, that is a book. I'm not sure how it ended up in here. Someone must have taken it from--

Sigma, filled with curiosity, interjected.

Sig: What does a book do, Mama Alma?

Alma laughed at the adorable question and answered.

Alma: Well, someone writes about something and it's all organized into a book for someone to read.

Sigma stared blankly at the book. She took a moment to process it's appearance.

Sig: ...Are all books this fuzzy looking?

Alma: ...Fuzzy? What do you mean?

Sig: Well, everything just looks really fuzzy. I don't know what half the things are in here.

Alma took a second to think, then she came up with an idea.

Alma: I will be right back. I believe I know what can help you!

    Sig: Okay, Mama Alma!

Alma left the room shortly. Sigma sat in her spot to wait for Alma to come back. She wondered what she was bringing, and couldn't wait to see what it was. When she returned, she had a worn out pair of glasses. They looked very used and rugged. The rim was a dull golden color, and it had looked like the center had been broken and repaired in it's past. The lenses looked to be in good condition compared to the rest of the eye-wear. They were a perfect size for a wyngling.

Alma: These are glasses. They aren't the best looking, but it should certainly clear up your vision! Here, put them over your eyes and tell me how everything looks.

She handed Sigma the glasses. Sigma examined the glasses, taking in all it's details and qualities. She then put them over her eyes, as Alma said. Sigma's eyes lit up with fascination.

Alma: Well? How do you like them?

Sig: Mama Alma, I can see everything! Everything is so colorful and clear, I can see the book, the window--

Sigma paused, stopping herself from rambling. She looked up at Alma, then ran over with her arms open to give her a hug.

Sig: Thank you so much, Mama Alma!

Alma: You're welcome! Now, do you need anything else?

Sigma thought for a second. The book! Maybe I can use the book for a bit?

Sig: Umm, could I possibly use the book? I want to see if I can figure it out!

Alma: Well, do you know how to read, Sigma?

    Sig: Uhh... no.

Sigma's smile began to fade. She was looking forward to using the book, but she now thought she couldn't.

Sig: Does that mean I can't use the book, Mama Alma?

Alma: Don't be so down, Sigma! All you have to do is learn how to read. Would you like me to teach you how?

Sigma lit up with excitement. The sound of learning how to read brought her smile back, and more curiosity with it.

Sig: Wow! Really? That would be great!!

Alma: Haha, ok! Here, I have a book just for this, somewhere. I will go fetch it in a moment. Go wait by that chair by the window. I will be back shortly!

Alma left the room once more to get the book she mentioned. Sigma walked over to the chair Alma told her to go to. She stared excitedly at the entrance of her room, and waited for Alma to return. After a couple of minutes, Alma came back with a book in hand. She motioned her hand, signaling Sigma to sit on her lap. Sigma hopped on and the book was placed in front of her. It was large compared to Sigma, but the size of it didn't affect her excitement. Alma opened the book and began speaking.

Alma: This is a book that can teach you how to read. We will begin with the alphabet, okay?

    Sig: Okay!

With that, Sigma's little reading lesson began. She studied each letter and corresponded the appropriate sound, learned to put them together in to words, and more. Sigma had a blast doing this. This sparked a small appreciation for learning in Sigma. The feeling she got when she discovered something on her own was something she loved, and hoped to learn as much as she could about anything. With her newly cleared vision, she was ready to see what the world had in store for her!
