There was a commercial...I think it was a commercial...were the one person kept saying "I'm not touching you. I'm not touching you." and was driving the person and others around them crazy with it. Well maybe I can do that to Devil Dog,!
Nah I would never tease him like that. But I was actually trying to get him to grab me for a "horned frog biting my finger" shot. Yes I was willing to sacrifice a little bit of pain and my own blood just for a shot. But of course the one time I want one of the horned frogs to bite me he doesn't! Go figure! Devil Dog is an Ornate horned frog.

Yeah he/she (still too young to tell if ml or fm) is just over the size of a US quarter now. But he can get to about 6 inches in diameter.
These guys really are voracious eaters and will usually snap at anything that moves..even water when I mist them. That's why I was so surprised that he didn't even try and I was all ready and braced for the bite!

If it's a male it will usually start calling or at the very least you will notice a throat patch forming. Yes horned frogs are also called Pac-man frogs b/c of their wide mouths and habit of trying to put any and everything into it!

Most herps have some form of "teeth" but some just don't have the jaw power or the teeth are so small they can't do any damage. But these guys have both the teeth and strong vise like jaws.
