You have some great short stories. You should make a collection of them (with an illustration for each.)

Thank you so much for honoring me so. If you truly want to get better though you should aim for an artist well above my meager abilities. XD I highly recommend Genzoman if you haven't happened across his works yet. ^ .^
Copics are alot of fun though not quite as forgiving as coloring digitally. Though if you get good at the one surely your talents will transfer across mediums.
Sorry for the rilly late replay and thanks again!!

Thank you so much! Really it just takes lots of practice and some good reference materials... for instance, I referenced wolf skulls when I was designing her. ^_~

I love the brilliant contrast of colors made in this magnificent...beautiful artwork!
Now, onto the advanced critque as encouraged...
...the blade on the Reaper, looks a bit too much like paper or a very fragile blade. This could be due to the shading used; the trianglular shading...
But if you're going for that rusty look, try to avoid adding too much "rusty effect" because once a weapon is old and fragile, it's pretty much a useless thing other than an ornament or some sort. But that's just my opinion! XD!
You "definitely" know how to shade a scythe, maybe even better than me...but still I want to show you my version...and you tell me what you think...on the "shading"...
[link]
Oh yea, on mine it also applies to the background lighting as well.
IMO, I would desaturate the clouds underneath and near the nose of the behometh-dragon-like creature a bit because they just stands out too much...well it depends on how you want to approach it that is...do you want the background to stand out...or the main characters involved in the scenes...?
But then again, there's also a part where background actually helps the characters...so yea......maybe that's what you're going for...
Other than the fact of fixing the shading of the blade and the contrast intensity of the background (unless this is what you're really going for), it's an awesome work...worthy to my taste! XD!

Zombie Dragon. Sweet. Mortanis and Kul'Nar would, in my opinion, make great foils for the heroes, or anti-heroes, even, in a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. I mean, in D&D, heroes, anti-heroes, and villains alike all face death at some point, so wouldn't it be something if someone were to face the Reaper and ally themselves?

Paladin-Ciel In reply to SteelSkeleton [2008-04-22 23:35:58 +0000 UTC]
Indeed thats what I think too. ^_^ And even going the opposite rout couldn't the Lich also find themselves to be threatened by such creatures. ^_^
I guess either way they would still be tricky enough to try to ally themselves and gain their favor. ^. ^

Yeah. Ally with the Reaper, and you don't have to fear Death for a while!

Hehe yeah that why Dracula became so powerful in Castlevania, because succeeded he gaining dominance over Death.
I really think that those games should shift away from always battling Dracula and start focusing more on Death's character. ^_^

SteelSkeleton In reply to Paladin-Ciel [2008-04-24 09:16:23 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I think so, too. Death is in more Castlevania games than Dracula himself, after all.

Paladin-Ciel In reply to SteelSkeleton [2008-04-24 10:07:26 +0000 UTC]
Totally and now what with Dracula being redeemed as Soma Cruz death will have to play an infinitely more powerful roll in the future. ^_^ I hope they realize that too over at Konami. Seems things over there are boiling down to the spic showdown of the 1999 battle. I hope they don't run out of ideas after that. XD

SteelSkeleton In reply to Paladin-Ciel [2008-04-24 10:35:04 +0000 UTC]
You will remember, though, that Soma Cruz's story is taking place between 2035 and 2036, at last installment of his story, so if they do have a game taking place in 1999, it'll be in the past again. Weirdness abounds...

haha yeah I can only imagine what would happen if they try to go much further into the future than what they already have.
Though I think there is a story to be told in the far future too especially were characters like Saint Germain and Chronomage are concerned... The concept of time travel especially.
Like how Castlevania 1's "The Creature" occurring before the tale occurred historically.
Oh yeah have you ever seen the movie Waxworks? It had great potential as a horror movie though they turned it into a cheesy comedy... though I do get Castlevania vibes from it ... must be the mixing of so many classic horror stories in one location. ^_^()
Ima watch that one again right now that you mentioned it. ^_^

Yeah, Saint Germain was an interesting character. He's one I'd like to see again.
Never heard of any movies called Waxworks.

Waxworks was a sort of cheesy horror comedy but it had some really great atmosphere and was ever only a short stone throw away from being a truly awesome horror story... if not for all the cheese. ^_^()
Lots of wasted potential I guess... the first one was best though I think you can get both movies on 1 DVD for dirt cheap as most people seem to have forgotten of its existence. XD

SteelSkeleton In reply to Paladin-Ciel [2008-04-30 04:02:29 +0000 UTC]
I'll check it out sometime, thanks. No, you want to talk about horror films with wasted potential... George Romero's Land of the Dead. Don't get me wrong, it was great movie, and the idea of zombies that get smarter and pretend to be alive is a good one, but it left plenty of room for a sequel which George himself has said probably will never be made.

Yes that one did somehow feel like some crucial angle wasn't hit upon properly. Or maybe its that they made it rated R rather than Unrated initially... Hmm now I really need to go back and rewatch that one.

SteelSkeleton In reply to Paladin-Ciel [2008-05-03 03:12:29 +0000 UTC]
Heh. Well, I'd like to see a movie taking place after the events of Land of the Dead. Though, did you know that Simon Pegg of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and most recently, Run Fatboy Run, had a cameo as a zombie in Land of the Dead?
π: 0 β©: 1
SteelSkeleton In reply to Paladin-Ciel [2008-05-03 06:50:45 +0000 UTC]
It's Run Fatboy Run, and it's an American comedy in the style of a British comedy. Simon Pegg was in it, yes, but he didn't have too much to do with it's production or direction, like he did with Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
Oh, really? they're making a new Star Trek Movie and Simon Pegg will play Scotty? Cool, thanks for the info. I did not know that until just now.
And on the subject of Resident Evil, I like the fact how Capcom is always re-inventing the series, and having the enemies be different than the previous game in some way. For example, in the first 4 games (Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 0, we're not countingthe offshoots like Code Veronica X and Outbreak), the enemies were zombies, but they were created from very different sources, but in Resident Evil 4, the fifth true Resident Evil, the enemies were villagers controlled by parasitic organisms. I don't know too much about Resident Evil 5 at this point besides the fact that you play as Chris Redfield. But it really burns me up that they're only releasing it for PS3 and XBOX360 at the start. Knowing them, however, they'll have both Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV on the Wii before a year passes from the initial release of each game, though, it seems to me that they, like so many other third party video game corporations, don't even try to support Nintendo, when Nintendo gave many of them their big break into the video game business. But that's a tale for another time.

SteelSkeleton In reply to Paladin-Ciel [2008-05-07 03:18:26 +0000 UTC]
Well, it's not always within a year. Sometimes they finish the game for one or two systems, ship them, then starting on a new control scheme or whatever for the third system, then ship it out. It could take less than year, or maybe more than a year. You may remember that Mortal Kombat Deception was originall shipped for PS2 and Xbox, then almost a year later, after Midway finished updating the controls for the GameCube and adding two exclusive characters, Shao Kahn and Goro, they sent out that version. On the opposite side of the same coin, Capcom said Resident Evil 4 would be a GameCube exclusive, but slightly more than a year later, on a spur of the moment decision, they added a couple new weapons and a new gameplay mode, and released the update for PS2. So it's not always a year, sometimes it's more, sometimes it's less.
And I wouldn't say Simon Pegg is a guest star in any movies, excluding any cameos he may make. Sure, he helped make Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, but in both movies, he was nothing short of the star, if not then co-star.

Yeah, well, I only have the GameCube and PS2 versions of a very few games. Really only Mortal Kombat Deception, because I had misplaced my GameCube copy and wanted to play it; Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, because the only version I could find cheats for was the PS2 versio; and Resident Evil 4, cause I was pissed that they released the game on PS2 when they originally said it was going to be GameCube exclusive AND with more features, no less.
I haven't seen Run Fatboy Run, either. I haven't seen No Country For Old Men yet, but I still intend to get it when I go to Wal-Mart tomorrow. And Super Smash Brothers Brawl if I have enough to accomplish all I hope to with what little money I'm taking.
