Zairis is my Great Dane, she is a Blue and White Harlequin. My boys of course are German shepherd, Avatar is about 3/4 German Shepherd and 20% Timberwolf and 5% Malamute. Thank you for your comments! Yes I would Agree, Zairis IS beautiful!

You pronounce Zairis like IRIS, with a "Z" at the front. Zairis' name was 2 names that I liked spliced together- Zaira--and Iris--but the combined meaning for her name is: A many colored rainbow, that opens like a flower--fitting, I thought. I also thought I would mention the name I originally picked for her was Darwyn--but my EX boyfriend didn't like it. So I formed Zairis--it does fit her better...lol.
You pronounce Euryp like the continent Europe--his registered name is, I will spell it out in English
*sort of* LOL--Why You-rip-uh-dese men-apart like-dat--get it? I actually named him after the Greek philosopher Eurypidese --sp--?the rest fell into place--I usually call him Euryp.
You pronounce Avatar, pretty much how it is spelled (aav-aa-tar)--he had his name before the Anime cartoon Avatar gained in popularity over here--the word Avatar in Latin actually means: an incarnation of a god, or a god who has come to this realm in a human or animal form, but retains godlike qualities. The name fit him WELL--his mother's name was Satyva (sat-eev-ah), and his father's name was Anaiu (an-eye-you) So I wanted a name with some of the same letters as both of them, and my calendar was open to the month the puppies were born in--January 28, 2004--and the name of the painting for that month was Avatar--I thought hey, if they used that word for a title of the art, it must mean something, I looked it up and KNEW it was PERFECT for my PERFECT pup.
no you know, the REST of the story....

It was interesting coming up with their names too...most people go for traditional names like Molly, Sam, Duke, Rex, Max and such, they are in for a real tongue twister when they meet mine, sometimes people don't like their names--too hard to remember---but I like having pets with names no other, or very few, other pets have.

Beautiful portrait! Such a lovely pack you live with. Zairis' pose is just gorgeous, and I love the overall action in this shot. Never heard of porcelain Great Danes before!

Porcelains are so named because they have blue spots on a white background, much like the fine China-wear.

white german shepherds are pretty. I am a big fan of the Blue German Shepherds, someday I might find me one.
