Thunderlane and Twilight Sparkle stayed inside, drinking Thunderlane's Applebuck. They exchanged personal experiences then Thunderlane fixed Twilight's jukebox. Twilight and Thunderlane quietly sat through the day listening to music, eventually dancing like idiots around the living room, as if forgetting all that had happened. After a few hours Twilight settled down, laying on the bed with a great big smile. Thunderlane followed short after, then turned toward her, "We're leaving to the Crystal Empire tomorrow, right?"

"Yeah..." she replied, turning back toward him, "We should sleep..." she said, nuzzling him, "Thanks for the good time, Thunderlane..."

"No problem, Twilight...It does me good to see a smile in these dark times." he said, laying in bed, and for the first time in a long time, they both fell asleep without a problem.

"Twilight..." Thunderlane stood before her, "Twilight...their coming." he sounded urgent, "Given ten minutes and they'll be in Ponyville."

"Get the bugout bags from under your bed." Twilight rushed to fill her sachel with food.

"Right." Thunderlane got the bugout bags, putting one on his back and sat the other beside Twilight, "ready?"

"Ready..." Twilight replied, putting her bugout bag on.

"Get in, I'll pull first." Thunderlane strapped himself into the harness of the carriage, flapping his wings rapidly before the carriage jerked, and they were off like lightening. Twilight looked behind her, watching her tree disappear quickly. Just as they left the machines appeared, hovering around the tree. They disappeared over the horizon as Thunderlane pulled them quickly toward the north.

"You can slow down now, Thunderlane," Twilight called out to him, "We're far enough away."

Thunderlane seemed to have ignored her, he looked back for a moment, then forward toward the mountain range in the far distance, passing by patched of trees that seemed to get larger and larger. He finally began to slow down, but not too much. "We lost them...?" He said, panting a bit.

"Yeah, we lost them. If you need to rest, you can." Twilight replied.

"No, we need to keep going; I'll be fine." Thunderlane replied, carrying on, pulling the carriage through the field and into the forest.
