Thank you Caroyn. Pepito is 6 years old and he's a sweetheart,
he's a talking budgie, he says short sentence and some words.
He's very funny and smart, also he's free in the house.

Oh, dear Paola, how fun to have Pepito. My little Cheeks, who is 13 years old now, recently had a stroke and is unable to fly so now everything in his cage is ground level...

I didn't know you have a Cheeks, what kind of bird is he?
Poor little thing, he's lucky to be alive after the stroke.
Pepito is free, but doesn't fly so much, maybe he's lazy...lol

Now I understand. Your little finch is very lucky to live for so long,
He's a strong cute bird. I had a parrot who lived for twenty years, he was a green cheek conure.
He was very beautiful, but he wasn't so nice and sometimes he screamed a lot.
He died in December 2012, I had the ictus on February 2013, so just in time.
Sorry, but I didn't miss him like a misse my other pet, even after all these years. He had a cage, but he lived outside all the time, on the top.
He rarely flew around the house, I think parrots don't like to fly too much.
Anyway I prefer dogs and cats, I don't think I'll get another bird. In someway I saved the conure, because
he was stressed and without feathers, he picked them up. For this we called him, pollo, that it means huhn.
I love soft furs, lol

Dear Carolyn, I love cacatua, it's a beautiful parrot, but the
problem is still the same, they scream a lot...lol
They live a very long life, an ara could live 60 years old...
I'm too old for such a bird, I can only afford a cat or a dog,
if I live longer enough. My heart is still bleeding for my beloved dog,
this was a really hard punishment for me.
Anyway, in another life, I'd love too to be a bird, but not closed in a cage...

Yes, I love this picture too. But my Pepito was almost killed twice by
my kitten Micol. Three years ago, when I was living in the other
house, with the garden and all the rest, I found some cats and Micol and her sister were
newborn, they lived with their mother until they were 3 or 4 months old. Immediately I fell in love with Micol,
at that time I had my beloved dog with me and she wasn't scary at all by my dog. Unfortunately I let her in the
house and though she was very young, she wounded my budgie twice, the second time she made him bleeding.
After that, I took them apart, but it wasn't easy. Now she's leaving with my sister and 3 other cats,
Pepito is free and I can't have cats.
I would love to take care of both, but for Pepito would be certain death.

I know, it's in their nature. Mo, the cat, and Moosh, the dog, use to bang on the aviary which housed the five little birds at one time and I would get upset with the bigger animals but thank goodness the little birds were behind bars - - maybe that's why Blue had a heart attack and died within the first four years, terrorized by the cat and dog. This is just a thought and I hope that was not the reason - - it was just his time.
To change the subject, it has been so cold and windy here that we fear we might lose power. It's to be -5 degrees tonight - brrr! Stay warm sweet Paola

Yes, I understand, poor little birds, cats can be very nasty...lol...even small dogs.
I had a German Shepard who lived with Pepito free and my dog
never attacked my budgie, maybe big dogs don't bother.
Here the weather is sunny as usual, we had some cold days, but really
nothing special. In some parts of Italy, bad weather can be dangeorous, but here
in Milan, not at all. It snowed only 2 days this winter, but the sun came back soon.
We have a very boring weather...
When I was in New York, it was February and for the first time in my life I
felt very cold. It was -10 degrees celsius. We don't have such a cold temperature
in town, only in the mountain.
I send you a big hug from the sunny Italy

Today I've spoken with the owner of my dog, who told me she's living alone in a court,
because the other German Shepard died few days ago. She was 14 years od.
The man asked me if I want her back and of course I would love to, with all my heart.
The problem is still I don't feel perfectly well, I can't go out alone and with a dog it would be impossible.
I need to recover my balance and some other little thing. So for now the situation is in stand-by
until next summer. If I'll be ok again, my beloved dog would come back with me for sure.
I really hope so...

Thank you dear Carolyn for your kind words.
But really, I feel guilty and miserable thinking my dog is out there
and I'm here with planty of time and we can't get together because
of my nasty health. I had to overcome my physical situation as soon as possible.
I want to try on myself if my willpower will be strong than everything else.
Anyway, I'm sorry for such a bad weather, is it normal?
Here as usual there's a nice sun, the temperature is not too cold, I can say it's perfect.

Dear Carolyn, actually you had a very bad weather,
as I told you here the winter is mild, but in the middle and south of Italy
they had a bad weather too. I'm glad to hear everyone is getting better.
Here the sun shines but fortunately, the temperature is still low.
I hope for the best, but I'm working hard on me, my dog is waiting...
Big hug to all of you

Thank you so much dear Carolyn for the premium membership!
You really didn't have to do it, you're to kind with me.
Now I can't paint and do what I'd like to do, this thing is driving me crazy.
I hope to come back asap to a normal life, I miss a lot of things...
Anyway, thank you very much for now. (you're emoticon is so cute)
