Description A paper sculpture of Rock Lee from the manga/anime Naruto made as a part of a larger sculpture for my god son. Rock Lee is one of his favorites and mine. The fight between he and Gaara during the Chunin exams was great. I also love when he uses "drunk-fu" (zui-quan or drunken fist).

Overall, I like this piece. I was worried that the skin tones were a little too yellow with the viridian of his clothes, but it seems to be ok with the black of his hair. I like his hand, but am a little unsure about the scale of his hand to his face and if the shadows (the two different skin tones) on his hand read appropriately. I don't think it looks bad, but I'm not sure if the depth works quite the way I want it to... There is a major issue with his pinky and forearm, the foreshortening isn't correct at all, but it won't be seen in the final piece (thankfully).

Rock Lee is made from Canson and Canford papers and measures about 3.5”x2.75”

At first when i looked at it, my eyes poped cause i actually thought he was coming out of the screen and grabbing me! O.o But then i looked again and i was like 'Oh my god that was scary! Wow, your work with canford paper is amazing! I had no idea that you could turn paper into such an phenomenal master piece, and being a fan of Rock Lee makes it all the more appealing. Looking at it makes me think it's card stock, but when I look at it again, I wounder if it's actually just paper. Which do you use?

I only use paper, no card stock. Card stock is too thick to bend and shape. Canford and Canson papers are a little thick, which helps give the pieces the appearance of weight.

It isn't easy, but it isn't impossible either. It takes some time and planning, but once you figure out what to cut and how to assemble, the pieces, it is pretty easy.
