Gaurd dog Capn isn't lookin' so hot there. But everything is so pretty and detailed. As an American English speaker however, I got completely derailed in the immersion at that text.
I had to go back and read it a few times to take it in, so to speak.

Heat waves suck. I think a lot of people would agree with you there.

Nice^^
Isn't it a problem the the dog on (our) right (of the smiths) has no visible tag/ring?
I remember reading that they'd need that to cross borders

Yay a page! Wurr is back in action. I love how you've drawn the guard station, even though it was a pain to draw. Can't wait for the next page.

or if you wanna go a little old school western you can say howdy.

I saw your Tumblr post about looking for new ways to say "hello" in English...for the record, "G'day" is almost exclusively Australian. (Which, if the copper is generally coming from the South, could be totally appropriate...)

I love the top panel and all their expressions. But what does the smith on the far left mean by "we couldn't find any closer."? I don't understand what he means by that and the structure of that little sentence seem a bit off.

I thiiiiink he means 'we couldn't find any coppermsith that could get here, faster/these were the closest coppersmiths we could find'.

I don't think the one talking is a copper smith, just one that was sent to find copper smiths. "We couldn't find any closer" being that they couldn't find any copper smiths closer.
Just a guess, though 8'D
