Description
A lone, brave man trudging across the snow on the mountain tops. Reminds me of LOTR. Taken in Leukebad, Switzerland from near the cable car station in December 2005.(This picture becomes very dramatic in Full View.)

I can just imagine myself on a skiing holiday, take skiis off, get camera out and dissapear into the mountains!! Marvelous.

Beautiful and, indeed, Epic. Looks great in full view, which is where I noticed a strange soft blue spot at the top of one of the mountains. Was that something that was there? Or just something that showed up?

Welcome, it's a gorgeous shot! I wish I had the opportunity to photograph such a lovely location. Western NY isn't without its charms, but it can't compare to Swizterland (part of my heritage, I 1/4 swiss).

Thanks for your comment- I saw the person crossing the snow an by the time I had switched my camera on, got my gloves off etc, he had almost moved out of the frame..but in the end he ended up in the perfect place

thanks Hani, every time I look at this photo, I feel quite inspired and very small indeed..I nearly missed getting him in the frame as I had to take gloves off and switch the camera on..in the end it was just perfect - thanks for the appreciation

This is my favorite of this series thus far. The sense of scale is breathtaking and I just love the play of lines in this. Yet another shot that would work so well in monochrome.
