Yay, the long awaited pic I've been working on for the hitokiri club's contest. It is finished at long last!!! (okay, now that I've got that out of my system...)This pic is rather complicated. The basic idea behind it is that during the battle that Soujiro and Kenshin had, Soujiro and Kenshin both were remembering a great deal. Soujiro remembered that stormy night, and he asked, "why didn't you save me?" Was he asking Kenshin? Shishio? Some higher being? OR just the void? Well, I think that maybe all of these things, and I thought to myself, what was Kenshin doing at the time this happened? Well, there you go.
The other side of this is that Kenshin had a lot on his mind during that fight, and primarily, I think he was thinking about his resolution not to kill, and why he made that choice all those years ago. I think it had a lot to do with Tomoe. That is who Kenshin in the rain is thinking of. And I think that it is very possible that this is what Kenshin was doing, and why he couldn't save Soujiro... So this pic is both showing that neither of their minds was actually in the room they were fighting in, because they were both remembering being somewhere else in the rain, and also this pic is my answer to Soujiro. To his question, "why didn't you save me?" Beyond that (and yes there is more) I leave up to your interpretation. ^___^ I hope you all like it.

Excellent, wonderful, excellent theme! Problem the Tsubu are Far too large, I hate to bring up such a nitpick but it clutters the image with their bulk.

Em... no nitpick away... that is how one improves as an artist, to hear what doesn't work well...but I do wonder what a Tsubu is..?

Doh! Misspelled it! Baka! Tsuba is the "cross Guard" on a Japanese Sword [Nihonto].

Don't say Baka to yourself. XD Thank you. I always wondered what those were called. That was a pretty one too. ^__^ So that is a bit big. I'm glad you said so because that is how I always drew tham and Now I can see how I can improve that. ^^

Well i hope it helps because everything else was so nice and then you have these, well dinner plates for Tsuba. they should be no biger then 12.5 cm [5 inches] oh and samurai should round or oval, square ones are generally are Ninja ones.

Oh, that is verygood information. I made them round... I think, and I always wonder what the thing is with round versus square. Quick question, when you say 5 inches, you mean that the diameter is 5 inches, right? This will be very useful information

XD I donno, taking constuctive critisism well and seein g it for its value rather than get worked up about it is an art form that must be taught. We work so hard on something, we want praise for it naturally.

All too true, praise is nice, I rarely get any so I find it extra sweet. I have an advatage I think, Haiku is so limited that it hard to construct critism especially if you get the tech stuff right.

Oh my gosh, must fave. This is so freaking awesome work. I've never seen anything like this before. It's hard to imagine that you made this by computer because it looks like a painting. The description you wrote about the fight and the emotions behind it were exactly the same I had when I read that volume. You truely are an amazing artist. This is so full of those deep and sad feelings they both have in their pasts. Keep up the great work. ^^
