Description
Guess who was stupid enough to hit the jumps on her first day skiing and broke her leg?If you guessed me, you're right!
In my defense, I've been skiing for something like 15 years. In theory, I should know what I'm doing. I have also taken similar falls about ten thousand times before and I've never sustained a single bruise, scrape, or cut, much less a broken anything. It was just wrong place, wrong time, wrong position, wrong everything else.
It's a spiral fracture of the fibula, but I didn't so much as bruise my ankle, my knee, or my tibia, so, as breaks go, I'm pretty lucky. It's well supported and I don't even need a hardcore cast, just a walking boot. If I'm lucky, it'll heal in 4-6 weeks. But I'm still hobbling around on crutches and feeling very tragic indeed. I'm laid up for the rest of the vacation while my dad and sister hit the slopes. In Whitefish, Montana. Which only happens to be my favorite place to ski ever.
If you think all that free time means I'll be writing anything, you might be disappointed. My sister got me a Disney princess coloring book, so...
Okay, so there's no real point to this journal. I just felt like complaining.

I will be eventually. The break isn't nearly as bad as it could have been, but it's still bad enough that I'm gimped up and hobbling around and can't do anything for myself. And I'm wearing skirts and dresses. This hurts me almost more than the break actually does.

Oh no! I hope you feel better! I've never broken my bones, but I have had many a bad bruises. To the point I couldn't walk. Anyways, that coloring book is going to be your lifesaver hahaha you should post some of the pictures!

Oh, I feel ya. Belle is a consummate favorite of mine. Also Mulan (though I guess technically she's a little newer). Speaking of new -- have you seen Frozen? Because it's a lot of fun! The best Disney has produced in a while.

Oh, jeez! The entire sum of the bad luck of this situation is absolutely mind-boggling! I've never broken anything other than my skull when I was three (though I don't remember much of that, for some reason), so I'm having trouble imagining what on Earth you're going through. However, a spiral fracture does not sound pleasant in the slightest! Glad your sister knows you well enough to get you that coloring book to guide you through this.

I know, right? It's like fate conspired against me in the worst way. I've never broken anything before this, so it's a fairly new and unpleasant experience. But still, the break isn't as bad as it could have been and it doesn't hurt much if I don't move it. I'm just bored as all get out and consigned to wearing skirts and dresses for the foreseeable future. Which is actually the worst. Thank goodness for my coloring book!

Again, Partial, everyone wishes that fate hadn't kicked them as hard as it did. However, now that's it's already happened, you really can't fix it and should just dust off your knees (When you can move them), tip your hat to the world and say "screw you".

Yeah, I know. I'm in the dusting-myself-off phase. Except that everything sucks and I feel like an idiot for damaging myself and it makes my life a gazillion times more complicated. These next 4-6 weeks cannot pass soon enough.
