Kithood [0 - 6 Moons]

Cherrystump, Thrushtail and Leafnose were three warriors of Shadowclan. Cherrythump was a large and chubby molly who was kind and sweet, Thrushtail was a tall and sleek tom was stoic yet gentle and Leafnose was a tiny yet brave tom. The two of them have been through thick and thin together. All three of them have spent their days in the apprentice den together - with Leafnose being only a moon older than his mates. At first, the three would have their squabbles. Well, Cherrystump and Thrushtail would, for the two of them clashed heads instantly when they realised they both liked Leafnose. This newfound challenge in love brought forth a rivalry between Cherrystump and Thrushtail - then Cherrypaw and Thrushpaw. Beyond fighting for Leafnose's (then Leafpaw) affections, they would fight for the best scrap of meat from the prey pile, they fought on who got to go to gatherings, they argued on who got to sleep where and they fought and had squabbles on practically everything. Leafnose would just sit there and instantly move away, not knowing what to do, and would just tell them he was going to focus on his training. But the tom had spent time getting to know the both of them and loved them equally as friends.

To see them arguing like this without all three of them hanging out was annoying to Leafnose but he knew he couldn't change things but he sure could try. But alas, it took them until they were warriors before anything changed. During a moment of Leafnose trying to get them to get a long so the three of them could hang out in peace, Cherrystump and Thrushtail yet again began to argue with each other and finally, Leafnose couldn't handle it. Things were going so well and his plans had failed? Maybe he just had to hang out with the two of them alone? But it was hard having fun whilst knowing the other was on their own. So he excused himself and left.

Feeling guilty, Cherrystump and Thrushtail began to finally work together for the first time in their lives and it was to look for Leafnose. Together. Reluctantly, they called for a momentary truce and finally, after spending the rest of the day searching, they found their dear friend curled up on his own with the obvious sign of tear tracks down the fur on his cheeks. Again, the two seemed to show signs of teamwork when they both went to curl around the tom and make attempts to comfort him.

It seemed that night prompted the beginning of something new for moons after, Cherrythump and Thrushtail began to find themselves enjoying each other's company and through many moments of denial and growing feelings, they began to know each other as not enemies but friends. With Leafnose with them, the three of them grew into something beyond friends and that was mates. From their union, they birthed a kitten - Aspenkit.

Aspenkit was a kitten who was surrounded by love. Sure her mother and papa argued sometimes but they always made up and they never lasted for long. Her dad said it was just silly old bickering and as she grew, she realised it truly was. The kitten was quite a small one, but it was not a surprise at all. After all, Leafnose was a small cat. But still, it of course caused some concern in the medicine cat helping with the birth and thus her parents before it soon came to their realisation how strong a kitten she was. Aspenkit, as all kits were, was very loud during her birth. Her cries shook the entire nursery walls and many thought it to shake the great shadowclan trees. But of course that was all just over-exaggerated words.

The little kitten was a slow learner to walk but she managed and she was a very hyperactive kitten. But it seemed she had some meekness to her, her quiet attitude reminding them of Thrushtail. The kitten was very easily adored by her parents, who all doted on her equally. Cherrythump and Thrushtail would compete on who could spoil her the most before they were shooed away by Leafnose BEFORE they all eventually settled down into a sleep pile. Right there, in the middle of her parents, became her most favourite place to be. It was safe, it was warm and it was where she was loved.

Aspenkit would always play with her parents tails before trying to peek out at the camp. The sight of all those big cats was quite intimidating but they were her clanmates and one day she would be as big as them. The camp was very dark but as a Shadowclan born kitten, it was a very comforting sight. The sight of a ray of sunlight creeping into the camp was what startled her and she would always curiously begin to creep towards it before dashing back.

The she-cat would rather remain there in the nursery, all safe and cozy, than spend some time out there but soon, she realised it was time for her to become an apprentice so she would have no choice. The thought of becoming an apprentice was a daunting concept and she really didn't want to leave her parents but she decided to suck it up and go with it. She wanted to make her parents proud! So she started stepping out of the nursery more, she started playing with the other kittens and she started interacting with other warriors of her clan - finding she would actually love being an apprentice! Maybe it was not so scary? She hoped she'd be able to find a caring and nice mentor and not some mean ones that the apprentices liked to complain about!

Soon enough, the time came. Prepped up by all three parents who wanted to give her tuft of fur different styles, Aspenkit was brought before the clan and gosh the spotlight she was in was scary but this was it! Apprentice time.
Apprenticeship [6 - 12 Moons]

Aspenkit was placed before Shadowclan’s leader and with a gulp, she waited for the ceremony to begin. To her surprise, she found that she wasn’t as scared as she thought she would be. Sure, the cheering and the attention was overwhelming but when her new mentor introduced herself as Mushroomstone and reassured her, Aspenkit realised she could handle this. She could do it! Oh and how proud her parents were! They were cheering the loudest!
Aspenkit became Aspenpaw and she was now under the tutelage of Mushroomstone. Mushroomstone was a senior warrior with great experience and wisdom. A very honourable mentor choice to have. The molly was kind and patient and Aspenpaw thanked Starclan for the choice in her mentor. Together they trained hard. Aspenpaw was saddened everytime she tried to hone her skills but alas, it seemed she didn’t have many. But Mushroomstone put faith in her and soon, she found she was very agile! Not the strongest, not the smartest and not the fastest - she was good at dodging and ducking quickly so her battle and hunting training focused on the element of surprise.
It was all so very fun and in between the training, Aspenpaw made fellow apprentice friends. Some of them didn’t seem to want to give Aspenpaw the time of day but she still made herself available for friendships and she began to grow. The molly was notably a very friendly and polite figure in the apprentice den and friends seemed to be always on the table.
Aspenpaw was soon to become a warrior and she continued to focus on training and making friends.

Warriorhood [12+ Moons]

Aspenpaw was named Aspenberry for her pelt and for her kind and gentle nature. The molly was joined by her friends in the warrior's den and she strives to become a great warrior. She has only been a warrior for a few moons but each moon was spent trying to her hardest to be a dependable warrior of Shadowclan and someone her clanmates could place their trust in. Of course, yet again, her parents were the loudest to cheer during her ceremony and they couldn't stop pestering her with affectionate bumps and hugs. Aspenberry was excited by the fact that she finally got to be a warrior alongside her parents!

Always at the ready to defend her clanmates, Aspenberry still remains quite cautious and shy, but when it comes to it, she might even jump into the face of danger if she digs in really deep.
