Nice sky, looks like rain has just passed. The water is definitely the real show-stealer here, its colour and transparency isn't a common sight in TG render.

PatGoltz In reply to Chromattix [2008-03-20 08:28:26 +0000 UTC]

I like that idea. Thank you! It's difficult to get color and transparency just like that, though I sometimes do it.

This reall is an awesome piece, I can't think of anything to improve upon, partly because it's so good, and partly because I'm not that good with Terragen

Sorry if I put the poem only in portuguese language... I let you here the translation...

And I danced, step by step
Looking mix the colors in my dream
Between one hug from the happiness
One flavor took me
Before a look that abandoned me in the horizon,
And this picture painted by love, like I think
Was that share from ideas and vibrant colors
Fascinated themselfs such which loving…

Thank you very much! It starts with the right software (Terragen) and ends with a lot of practice. I actually got some help from another deviant, to whom I am very grateful.

E dancei, pΓ© ante pΓ© no meu sonho
procurando mesclar as cores
por entre um abraço de sabores
uma ventura que me levou
ante um olhar que no horizonte me abandonou,
e esse quadro pintado pelo amor, pressuponho
era a partilha de ideias e cores vibrantes
que se deslumbravam tal qual velhos amantes...

Gorgeous this work... I can stay for hour looking at it and feel one delicious sensation of peace, abandonment

This is defo my favourite of the two. The water looks nice, did you change adjust some settings on it?
Good job on the surface map too - Love the grass textures!

The only thing I could mention is to possibly lower the Reflectivity Curve to "smoothen" the transition from water to land. But otherwise, fantastic job on the atmosphere and nice POV!

Thank you, and thanks for the wonderful comments and the fav. I didn't do a whole lot to the water. I guess I messed with it some. I'll think about your suggestion on lowering "reflectivity curve". I'm not real familiar with what that actually does. I need to play with it.

I like the atmo here...also the pov/terrain...surfaces seem a little too bumpy for my taste...especially the shore....also a wet shoreline would add a bit more realism to this great render!the only other thing I would personally change is the transparency and colour of the water...I'd make these slightly less saturated/muddier...still its a great render all the same!!

PatGoltz In reply to inkydigit [2006-02-23 12:37:18 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! You're right. I should have a wet shoreline. I wanted to have crystal clear water this time.
