Description
This began as a random Apophysis batch file using the disc variations, followed by the "Spiralize" script and a bit of blur which gave me what looked like a "Nova" and "bands of gaseous matter" like one sees in some of the astronomical pictures. To this collage I added the ''moon' from the recent "Midnight Faceoff'' dragon pix, as well as the ''moonlit clouds'' and over this, I layered one of my earlier "Dragonflight IV & VII" dragons flying across the secondary ''world'' above the ''dragonworld'' I also added the "world" sphere from my "Dragonflight VIII".This is of a size suitable for use as a wallpaper, too.

I have lots of folders with Apo renders that remind me of different things found in nature or shapes in general... The *.png transparencies of the renders really make it easy to include them in the collages. It keeps my imagination working overtime...

The *.png files are a ''no-loss'' data type of file for images, but they also have transparent backgrounds which make it easy to overlay the images on a page as transparencies. They're a high resolution file, like the *.tiff and *.bmp files. When I render my Apophysis fractals, I usually save them as *.png files and then I can layer them on a background of my own preference instead of a solid color background that one gets with the fractal when rendering and saving as a *.bmp or *.jpg image file.

I save all of my images as *.png files and then add them to a background in my Photoshop program. That way I can add shadowing or gradient treated backgrounds. I usually mention what I did in the image descriptions on my gallery postings. It can give you an idea or two in playing with the program.

no kiddin i didnt know that they had something lik that there, what do u do take the print on disc and they enlarge it ? that would be neat i have some stuff i like to frame

Our local store does. I usually set the image up in Photoshop...set to the size of the paper or the size of the area to be printed upon and at 200 to 300 dpi resolution and save it as a bitmap image. The 8"x10" print's file size gets up to 24MB in size....sometimes even more. So, an 8"x10" print's size at 300dpi results in an image of 2400x3000 pixels. I just load the bitmap images that I want printed on a CD disk and just take it down to the store. I guess the images can be loaded from their computer into the laser printer or their wide format printer. They've been printing my stuff on a 24lb Xerox paper....I think it's acid free, too. But, I've bought a ream of heavier 67 lb. paper that they will use to print upon, too. It's heavy enough for use as a card stock. They have a wide variety of papers in the store here, too. I used some of their sets of invitations for a couple of weddings that I did the type setup and printing for the couples. One of the art and office supply stores here in town will even custom cuts and mattes the images for one. But that gets a bit expensive at $12 for the print. But, I don't cut mattes very well... so I relegate it to gifts.

Sometimes photoshops will print from disk, too. It wouldn't hurt to shop around. Especially with the proliferation of the digital cameras.

Noice collage--very gorgeous. My only complaint would be that the full-view is a lot harsher looking than the thumb.

I found it looks good when reduced from the 1280x960 to 1024x768, too. The trouble at full size is all the extraneous detail that slips in.

It depends on your local store. I don't know if they accept a flash drive here, I use CD disks, myself. Sometimes they added a charge to transfer the files from disk to their machines. The local Staples and one of the other businesses here in Bismarck have a 39ยข color copy deal going on right now. So I send my 8x10's down there on a CD disk for printing. I set them up on my Photoshop Program for the size and a 200 to 300dpi resolution in a bitmap format which gives a nicely color saturated print. I have them print my calendars for me. At 39ยข, I can't print them on my printer for that. I think my 11"x17" at 200dpi copy was $1.98 before the tax. It's a bit extra if you want a special paper. I just buy a ream of it, and then have them use it, so I have a bit left over for the next time.
