Description
After the intensity of my last drawingI needed a little 'light relief'
I saw this painting during my usual lunchtime google images search looking for inspiration, and just had to draw it straight away. The original had a fantastic fight scene reflection in the lenses of the Stormtrooper, I decided to fill them with a vision of Darth!
I thought a couple of hours, how wrong i was!! I reckon at least 5 hours straight through without stopping.

Mechanical Pencil 0.3mm with 4B leads
Traditional Pencil HB and 8B graphite (my new best friend)

love this picture but be honest, does it make a good print? In my experience pencil drawings don't come out well but I'd love to get this as a christmas present for someone. I'll trust you if you say it does come out well, as it is absolutely fantastic, but it's the sort of thing I get nervous about.

To be honest I have no idea what it looks like when DA have printed it - experience of my other work that has been brought as prints from DA has been very positive - I have no reason to expect that this would be any different.

well its slightly scary to think that episode 4 was released 35 years ago. in which time the star wars franchise has become one of the most recognised around the globe.
As i said in my original post, the simplicity of this piece is its brilliance. They say its the simple things in life that bring us the most pleasure.

Did this Stormtrooper just do the 'take your daughter to work' day?

It's a gag from Robot Chicken's spoofs involving a trooper doing 'take daughter to work day' and nearly becoming toast by asking Vader if he has kids himself.

Really glad you like it, Stormtrooper has been my most popular drawing (if you consider the number of faves as a measure of popularity?) - whilst I really love the drawing, I'm not sure it's my best work, and was certainly quicker than some of my other pieces. Either way happy that you liked it

No prob. yeah I like the others such as Iron Man and the Silver Surfer too, its just I'm a big fan of Star Wars, especially some of the art and concept art, prefer it to the films themselves!
