This is a super classic. It makes me think of Darwin Cooke's New Frontier. this is a new fav.

You seriously rose to the challenge! This is cool and makes an intriguing cover. I definetly would pick up the comic and look inside. It also reminds me of a cover to an old Science Fiction magazine.

Paul,
I really love this piece and I couldn't help notice that you used Freehand (and Photoshop). I've just finally (sadly) left Freehand for Illustrator so I'm curious what is your stance- do you also use AI or are you a Freehand holdout (like I was)?

The simple fact is that I'm faster in Freehand, because that's what I was trained in. I think Freehand is a better technical program than Illustrator, and that Illustrator is a better drawing program. It's not so much that I'm anti-Illustrator, but from a tech and output standpoint, Freehand is a smarter program.

Excellent work, Paul. But I need this as a poster. Or, even better, as the cover of real comic book.

How not to love Warren Ellis?
This is not the first time that he revisits the FF theme. Think of Planetary. That bloody masterpiece...

I was thinking the same thing; he's done a few visits to the FF as characters in other books, but Planetary is the one to beat. Bloody brilliant, agreed! Thanks!
