It's easy to forget that Half-Life and Portal are supposed to be set in the same continuity. To be fair it did seem a bit hard to believe after playing Half-Life 2 and Portal 2, given the drastically different tones (Half-Life being fairly serious and gritty compared to the dark humor and zaniness encountered throughout Portal 2).
I'm also not sure how a team up between Chell and Gordon Freeman would have worked? Would it be a co-op multiplayer thing? Would one be an NPC while you control the other (which might be difficult on account of neither one speaking)? Would you be choosing between them or have one assigned from the beginning, or rotate between them over the course of the story?

Nice shot. A shame the Borealis itself isn’t quite visible in this one, but it does look epic.

I feel Alyx is a bit out of place here, as she's not a player character.
And Chell should be the Portal 2 version, as that's the version that managed to get out of Aperture Science laboratories. ^^''

Alyx is here because she was almost guaranteed to play a role in Episode 3, even if she is the only NPC of the group. Besides, there's a specific reason why three characters are in this picture, see?
As I said in the description, I went with Portal Chell instead of Portal 2 Chell because this was supposed to represent what we thought Episode 3 might have looked like back in 2008. After all, before Portal 2 retconned the first game's ending, Chell did originally escape Aperture Science Laboratories in the end.
